You are freaking out for no reason. You're not going to hurt it. Just disconnect the battery for a while to reset the code. Then drive it and see if it comes back on. If it doesn't, great. If it does, report back and we'll take it from there.

But you're not going to damage the engine, don't worry.

1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Take everything apart.
3. Put everything back together.
4. Reconnect the battery.
5. Start and drive

Hopefully the light doesn't come back on.

Yes and yes. Do what Jeff and Wanderer said. You gotta be prepared for the unforeseen when doing aftermarket mods. Just roll with the punches and figure it out.

Ok, thanks guys! I'm picking up some MAF cleaner tomorrow and was planning on redoing my headlights Friday anyway so I'll just "re-install" the intake then. Also been working w/ Injen to try to find a solution. Hopefully with all those things I can get things back to normal soon.

I adjusted a few hoses and tweaked the positioning of them w/o clearing the code or disconnecting the battery and guess what...the CEL went off on its own. I really should not be allowed under the hood of my car or 2nd Gen GE8 Specific Fit Engine Modifications, Motor Swaps, ECU Tuning Sub-Forum

Thanks for all your help and dealing w/ my panic over keeping my baby running perfect!

Good to hear. Sensors in modern cars are SOOOOOOOOOOO freaking sensitive. Doesn't surprise me that some tiny bump to a hose or something during this install set the cel off. I have a short ram but installing a cold air there's more chance of bump something during install.

Light came back on today...Jebus Christ. Debating if I'm just going to put the stock setup back on or continue working w/ Injen for a solution. I won't bother you guys anymore until I have a solution. Thanks for all your help!

It's no problem. I hope you get your problem fixed though. It could very well just be a bad intake. With mass produced items there's always the chance of a lemon. The inside diameter of the pipe where the sensor sits could just be a little off, wider or narrower than it should be (2" I believe is the correct diamter). Maybe Injen will provide you with a replacement. Best wishes to you.

Can anyone reload, rehost this photo?

Removed some parts to clean out my air filter and removed the panel outlined in the picture just for shits n' giggles. Turns out it just seals off a resonation chamber inside the airbox. Removing the cover does nothing to the intake path - and will not effect filtration. However, what it apparently does is to separate the induction noise with an open space. Removing the panel actually releases a good amount of low-end and mid end intake noise. Makes the engine actually sound as if it were running.

Removing it is very simple. Two 8mm bolts and the cover pivots off. I assume one could then also cut away the bottom of the chamber to expose more area to the induction tract - but thats a project for another day.

Here you go...The part you can remove is #3 in the diagram. It's just held on with two screws which are #27 in the diagram. Don't think it's worth it, you'll barely hear anything if you do at all.

nope nope... you can't link directly to their pictures...

go back to the picture on their site, hit the print screen button.

open up ms paint, and paste. trim it down however you like...

upload to the FF.net's album (each member has their own)... then provide a link to it.

Why not?? Guess there are some rules somewhere I didn't read, just like 99% of people I'm sure. This mod isn't even worth the minimal trouble of saving a picture and re-uploading it.

Yeah, it really isn't anything worth doing. Just get yourself a nice intake on there. I'll be selling my DIY short ram sometime this week...keep an eye out.
