Well, this past weekend she got a nice bath at the carwash, then chamois-dried. After we had lunch I got out the Meguiar's clay bar and detail lube spray and rubbed her all over. Please DO THIS for your Fit, it's awesome. Yes, it's an extra PITA step, but feels like wet glass even when dry, you're getting every speck of s--t off your paint is why. This was followed by a nice coat of Meg's liquid carnauba wax. Sooooo pretty when finished!!!

Went to the dealer this morning to get the MPG indicator software update done per TSB 09-086. Figured this wouldn't take very long. WRONG Also had the LMR springs service while I was there. I hadn't planned on this, because it's better (for them) if you leave it cold overnight. Takes a while to cool the motor. But all taken care of, and valve adjustment done of course as well. Was worth the 5 hours wait! Runs super quiet, better than previous, valves or LM lash may have been slightly loose. Very attentive tech, didn't mess up anything around the cowl area, no busted clips, perfectly clean engine bay when finished, checked it after a drive home. No leaks or oil odors. Good when you find a tech who cares about his work.

 

I have your turbo thread bookmarked. I almost went that rought but decided against it. i'll wait for the mount kit to be designed and just swap a K or a f22c on a k tranny.

Im the same way about this forum, everyone keeps talking about economy and blah blah but i see the fit being the next eg or ek coupe. Its just going to take some time for it to get started.

 

Put in my Nokya yellow fogs and raised my headlight aim a bit. Tinting the back windows today! Ooohh yeaahh!!

EDIT: I also learned that I should never do window tinting as a profession. I'll stick to my day job behind the computer!

Broken driver's side side mirror turn signal cover. Some scared Japanese driver didn't get over on their side enough, I had no more room to move any more left and BAAMMMMM, mirror folded in and pieces of plastic into the face. Will go to Honda after work today to check on replacement piece.

 

Painted the fog housings white, wiper blades yellow and bought the Honda window visors. Either I'm illiterate or these directions are super hard to follow. I sure as hell am not paying $65 for the stealership to install them!!

 

its actually not too bad its just super annoying because of the stupid little foam you need to install...but it doesn't take that long if you just follow them closely

 

That was one thing I was worried about pulling the rubber out and sliding it in the right position. I'm handy, but not super handy. Going to wait til I can get a little help and a garage with no wind or rain haha

 

...and after all that work you don't get to take her to bed.

 

Loaded it up with two boxes full of work stuff and said buhbye now to that job.

That's why I took the curvy road today. I will miss the drive but Honestly, I won't miss the work. Also, i'm 5 min from my son's kindergarten (instead of 45 min) which makes a BIIIG difference.

oh... and no more staff... I'm strictly tech now instead of 1/2 tech, 1/2 management.

Not to worry, VT's got plenty of back roads... ok a few less than we had before Irene but still a lot of good ones.

Installed the oem visors today and installed the long awaited t1r bpipe. Was waiting for 6 months to get my hands on it.

Visors took roughly an hour to install. I would have to say the longest part was taking off the damn tape backing. My poor fingernails took a beating. Lol. Visors look great though.

T1R bpipe took roughly an hour and a half, only cuz I had to stop by my local mechanic shop to have them loosen the bolts that are after the secondary cat and connect to the stock mid pipe. Then I finished the rest at home.

also put my K&N sri back on. (took it off because i was thinking about trading the fit, been off for 2 months)

omg, it is so nice to be able to hear vtec again. the car sounds mean(er) too. and just in case anyone is wondering, you DO NOT have to put the replacement coolant line in. you can leave the oem coolant/vacuum setup in and just put the new vacuum line in by itself. replacing that stupid coolant line is annoying.

I made this SWEET instructional thing to confuse/help you.
The red arrows are the OEM vacuum line, now not connected to anything. The red circle is where the OEM vacuum line terminates into the OEM airbox.
The green arrows are the K&N replacement vacuum line, and where it connects to the intake underneath.
