Very cool... the rear wiper delete mod.

Of all the vehicles I've had with a rear wiper I can say I've
never used the rear wiper on any of them.

gave my Fit an oil change (8.3k miles)... man, that old oil was black! It's slowly getting easier, especially with the right tools. I think I'm gonna go buy another floor jack, a smaller one to lift one of the front corners of the car enough to slide my main floor jack to that middle jacking point just behind the engine. As it is, I've been using the scissor jack that came with the Fit to do the initial corner lift.

I also used ramps... though not in the way they were intended. Instead of driving the Fit up the ramp (the front bumper is too low to clear the ramp), I jacked the Fit high enough to pop the ramps under the tires and lowered the car back down onto it and my jack stands (the stands were the primary load bearer).

Ah... price you pay, for lowering a car.

Also "rotated" my tires... actually, I took all four off and rearranged them to give the back the ones with more tread. The difference was way less than a mm (practically looked even across all 4), so it probably won't make much difference. At least it was better than last time I rotated them. The difference was quite noticeable then! And while they were off, I used some sand paper on the surface of the hubs and the wheel, to clear off some of the rust that had been building between them.

Not bad, put 20k miles on them and it looks like the S in DWS will be visible for quite a while.

Crap, didn't take a closer look at my brake pads... or the shoes. Hum... next tire rotation, I'll pull off the rear drums to check em out. Hope I remember.

In any case... now I need to get it washed. I got a wet paper towel to rub off the bird droppings yesterday, but my car is still quite covered in dirt... pretty noticeable, especially when compared to the "cleaner" spots where I rubbed.

Goobers... Get 4 2"X 8" boards 2 of them 1' long and 2 of them 2' long. Set the 1 foot long ones on top of the 2 foot long ones and set them in front of the wheels you want to raise and drive up on them to raise the side you need to raise with the jack.

how low is your car? i carry around 1-2x6 about 8" long in my spare tire well. i drive my driver's front tire up on it. once i get one side jacked up, the other side is high enough to fit my jack under. i'm on t1r springs though, so it's not a crazy drop i guess.

It is on Swift Mach springs but is a GD3 so 1.5" drop with only .75" drop in the rear required a couple of boards when I was using 195-45-16"s on it... They were lower than 195-55-15"s I have a full sized floor jack with a rubber cushion that can't be used cup without driving up on 2 2x 8"s. I plan on raising the car back up close to the stock height after I repair and replace all of the plastic crap that is messed up on the bottom of the car.. The gd3 sport is stupid low even without putting dropped springs on it.

DUDE... I'm to lazy for manual labor. But if i'm just lifting a corner/side, my floor jack fits fine... it's just that center section to reach in order to lift the whole front end.

Ha ha. I replaced the cabin air filter for the first time today. When did you guys replace yours? It was really filthy. There were some flies in there too, nasty.

I guess working on a car is manual labor if you don't have air tools, tire changer and jacks or lift... Imagine repairing cars 10 or more hours a day 6 days a week with none of that stuff... Those things are better and cost about the same they did 40 years ago..... I can feel it too, all over my body.

I use 8 2x4's 1 ft. long ea. 4 on each side laid out 2 wide and stacked. Push them snug to the contour of the ramp so they're staggered enough for the Fit to crawl up. Works for me.

Air tools are the best thing ever. Lifts are a close second. Makes working on vehicles soo much easier.

Lift over air tools hands down - ever since my buddie installed one this spring in his new garage, for sure. It's really nice to be able to walk under the Fit, with an air wrench in hand ;-)

The recommend service interval for the cabin air filter is every 15,000 miles or once a year, which ever comes first and the same interval as the engine's air filter, if I remember right.
