Was able to put the fit ev headlights on. I am satisfied with it, something different. I may do a retrofit but will try it on my Silverado before I do this car.

So guys ,

One of my coworkers is going to HONG KONG for a month. And he knows I'm a honda enthusiast. So he said he can bring back some honda parts if I give him the part number.

Any idea on what I should have him get? I'm not sure if HK gets te same jdm parts.

Well he can't being anything too big. Just stuff that could fit in an empty back pack or luggage bag.

So maybe just badges or interior pieces or something.
As for price. I need to give him the part number first.

Nice intake. With the scoop behind the grill are you worried about water getting in there? I have the hps short ram and was thinking of finishing the under hood scoop to connect better but i fear the h2o. why did they not just use this from the factory? Looks like it has less plastic and they already make it for the crz. I would think it costs less than the fits to produce.

I believe that's because the original (non-USDM) Fit did not have the space to fit a front snorkle, as the engine bay is way shorter then the CR-Z and USDM Fits. So they designed an intake short and compact enough to fit into the engine bay for the original Fit (with extra effort ducting fresh air via the hood), that got carried over to the USDM Fits.

Hello,
The Scoop were NOT behind the grill,
it is actually HIGHER then the grill.
From the grill, there is another scoop/piping that channel the air through a few opening slit.
so it is safe

Thanks, I did look at them and they felt pretty smooth. If the weather clears up tomorrow maybe I'll take another look and grab some pics.

Sorry to drag this out. The scoop i was talking about is below this vent behind the grill. Not sure if you have stock grill or if the scoop below the vent is on aftermarket grills. I guess if you aren't worried about water between the hood & grill I shouldn't worry about it traveling to my short ram.

Honestly its so hot under the hood any droplets of water that do manage to squeak by will be mist by the time it hits the filter.

Really only cold air intakes have to worry about sucking up water. They are usually located closer to the ground and not shielded by the (word escapes me) the plastic liner than sounds the engine compartment. So in rain and in cases of driving through deep puddles of water they have a greater chance of sucking up water. But a short ram's only issue is heat soak.

Thanks mr.hollow.
In other words, the nifty little scoop behind the grill and the under hood plastic scoop and any attempt to modify to more directly move air are pointless?

Hello,

First, there is a distance of about 4in between that Vent and the Snorkel that led to the CR-Z airbox., so that distance alone should make any water that somehow manage to travel UP from the grill to the vent DISPERSED...

Second, the scoop in the grill itself is going UP 90 degrees bend, so I don't think lot of Rain Water going through it,
Third, this is kinda cheesy hahaha, but I think my RS emblem at the grill actually block that scoop a little bit hahaha...

Forth, the snorkel goes up to a lower part of the CR-Z Airbox,
then the air have to travel UP through the K&N Filter, then it goes to the top part of the airbox, then bent another 90 degrees before entering
the second chamber of the airbox... so if there is water coming in,
it should be caught in most of those chamber and hopefully become vapor since it is hot in there.
Here are the chambers pictures:

Fifth, the snorkel actually have another pipe that suppose to connect to CR-Z resonation chamber, but on my case, I plug that pipe outlet,
still it also function as another chamber to catch some water drip...
Hmm... now I am thinking of adding that other resonance chamber to my setup... maybe it will make sound different...

Sixth,
if you look at the CR-Z itself,
they also have similar VENT to feed that snorkel,
and they don't have problem with water on the CR-Z, so I am sure it will be fine for us:
Here is the picture:

By the way the CR-Z owner actually do a modification to have scoop similar to the one we had on our car:
