ok. my carbon fiber skinning for my upper glove lid is a bust. have to throw it out. i didn't premeasure the fabric before laying on the resin and my resin went past tacky before i got to apply to the fabric. had much difficulty trimming the fabric so i said f it.

ended up ordering a replacement lid and the crz engine cover. ill try to carbon skin the engine cover if it arrives before wednesday. now only if bernardi actually ships stuff asap.

started to fix up my hood too. cudn't wait any longer since my damn refund is taking too long. dremelled up the chipped underside. tried to layer up the cf from under. made a painters tape outline of my oem hood where the crack is, and sanded the epoxy to shape. applied another layer of resin to patch from above now and try to blend in the cf pattern since the edge is just clear epoxy. waiting it for to go tacky then apply a single layer of fabric. more epoxy then hold it down flat with a release film. cure over night and sand to perfection tomorrow.

got the release film on. doesn't match the weave. wish i knew about all the types of weave beforehand. i think he used a 1x1. still a carbon fiber hood with a bandaid. can't wait to sand it tomorrow hopefully i don't have to reaapply more resin.

Dang Ryu, I'll give you kudos for tackling this yourself. Shame about the mismatched weave, but overall it looks good. And its a small area you won't even notice after awhile.

Who knows the cf bandaid look might catch on in the drift scene...their always trying to repair stuff with zipties and welding and tape etc.

Got the windows tinted - 50% front, 35% rear (VA limits) and installed rear splash guards.

Still need to install the window visors, side moldings, and plasti-dip the front and rear valences.

I'll upload some pics once I finish the install and do a wash/wax this weekend.

That's the same tint percentage I've got. (In VA also)

It's so light. I'll be going darker!

Yeah it came out lighter than I expected. I wanted to go darker but I don't want to risk getting a ticket and having to remove it. What % will you be getting done?

i don't know what it is but I am getting some pretty decent MPGs this summer. Besides the cooler than usual temps, it might be the Pennzoil Platinum I'm using this year. My scangauge is on point too with with gallons used after i calibrated it to a 11 gallon tank. The onboard MPG calculator matches my hand calculations too. All this after 3 years of ownership.

My MPGs are exceptional lately. I used to burn half a tank every two weeks. Now that's starting to last about a month. No real changes to driving habits or style. We drove to Edmonton on half a tank, drove around all weekend, and got fuel on the way out, and we still had 1/3 tank. That includes running across town with the AC running all the way out to Buck's (out of town), running the AC for half the trip down, and getting stuck in pretty heavy traffic for most of Saturday.

The only difference I can think of from last year is the tires and rims. I don't think the stock pie cutters are *that* heavy, though.

As mentioned, the only downside is that you have to wait.
Ok figure it out but Wow 1 to 3 months wait... that's a much longer wait then I expected hahah did you place the order that way?

Im sure I can find some trunk led's or something to pass $25 mark for free shipping.. just don't know if I want to wait 3 months for the antenna

I live in downtown RVA where cops have bigger issues to worry about than window tint so a step down and did 35 on the fronts and 20 on the rears. I only get worried about gettn pulled when I'm in the surround counties but that's not very often.

New engine air filter today. Code didnt pop up yet but its been nearly 2 years and 40000km. Tons of grime on the old one though. Weird that the code hasnt come up yet.

Nice little power improvement especially when taking off highway instant readout seems a little better but that could just be placebo.

Yeah, I'm a patient guy, and I still have an antenna, so it's not a big deal. I bought a bag of pretzels to fill in the gap. They'll ship them at the same time to save me money and ensure pretzel freshness.

Wish I would have done this instead... oh well, now I know for my next car.

Installed these Hardrace adjustable sway bar links to relief sway bar preload after corner balancing

I was barely able to maintain factory LCA geometry with RCA installed and mild lowering (330mm hub centre to wheel well)...

And finally a shot of my under chassis. Pretty much done with front chassis modifications, with the possibility of filling up the LCA bushing with urathane or go for Hardrace hard rubber bushings...

Hardrace parts can be ordered from pretty much any auto shop in Taiwan as they are a domestic brand, which I ordered from the garage where I do my DIY. Not sure where you would get them in the US, and as it's a very new product, you might want to try contacting them directly to see if they will sell overseas.

Here's a link to their release page:
HARDRACE GLOBAL - #7512 & #7656 ADJUSTABLE STAB. LINK SERIES
