D2S projectors on the car. Almost done with wiring and placing the ballast. Going aim them within the next hour or two.

Got my projectors installed. Stripped the adjustment screw rail on the passenger side some how. Ended up having to open them up again because I installed the shrouds wrong and the driver side fell off. Have the passenger side still open and letting the silicone that I put around the screw dry. Hopefully it will either hold the housing where it is which is properly aimed. If not then I will find another way to ghetto rig it since I can't purchase that plastic piece. If anyone has suggestions please let me know!

Now it's 3:30 AM. I've been working on this thing since 12 PM yesterday afternoon. Quite possibly the longest Mini D2S retrofit ever.. Bed time. Getting up in a couple of hours to try and finish it all up.

I drained my battery, being the dolt that I am.

I was putzing around with my newly installed Kenwood headunit, while I had the headlight and front map lights on... but engine off.

I only found out when the Kenwood shut itself off.

Took a moment to realize my battery had drained. After shutting down non-essentials, I tried to start the engine... only managed to set off the alarm (I think I inadvertently armed it). Waited a few moments and it seemed to have slightly more charge, but not enough to start the engine. I came into my room to wait a bit and ended up falling asleep for 2 hours (in my chair of all places).

After that 2 hours, I went back out and tried to restart the car... and it started up! whew. Now, it's sitting there running at 4:30 in the morning.

Might go out for a quick drive after this post, to mess with the Kenwood some more (along with charging up the battery some too).

I stripped mine too. I set it close to where it needed to be aimed, then squeezed some super glue in there. Once it dried, I could still adjust the vertical aim some. Still holding up after a couple weeks now.

Reminds me of the dual headlights I bought for my Mirage a while back.

I bought it from a fishy shop in Chinatown LA. Took them FOREVER just to ship it to me... and once I received it, it had TWO problems.

The first problem was both sides were wired wrong, low beam setting activated high beam, and of course high setting triggered low beam. So I had to pull the wires and reinsert them into the H4 adapter in the correct order.

The other problem was one of the reflectors (I think for the high beam) wasn't attached to one of the adjustment screws. It would fall forward, throwing the aim straight into the ground.

My fix?

I clipped the hook end of a wire clothes hanger... bent it into an S of sorts, or more of a straight wire with two little hooks on the end, and then hooked the top of the reflector to the access opening. Took a while to get it to just the right length though.

It held for the 9 years I owned the car... and it's probably still there for the current owner.

I'm loving my new Kenwood HU... I can finally see CHINESE song info!!! No more ". . ." (one "." per Chinese character). In my Alpine INA-x305, it only showed "Not Supported" for each info type (but it did play the songs). I wonder if the current Alpines are still not showing Chinese (or any foreign language).

Much appreciated Kelso for the quick delivery. Also inserted 65-56mm hub rings into the wheels. I had a spare set laying around. Tires should be in next week, just in time for the event over at Suzuka Southern on Dec 1st.
Drool drool drool.... slurp.... very nice!!!

Got some Blizzak WS60s installed on Friday...I'll have to wait until a noticeable amount of snow hits the ground but they are quite an aggressive tire.

Finally finished the retrofit this morning. Added map lights to my base and burnt the hell out of my finger with the soldering iron. And carbon fiber wrapped the upper glove box. Not sure what to wrap next. Still have a bit left. Overall a productive weekend for the Fit.

Knowing my luck, my retrofit will have more issues when I ever get to it...
Glad you got them finished, Jamy.

Really nice rims, 555 !!!!!!!!!!!

This weekend, I installed the TSX Homelink roof console w/sunglass holder, had to do some modifying of the roof liner to make it work, and need longer bolts, but it fits and most importantly it works. I still have to wire up the ambient light, but all other features are hooked up. It took me a while to try and program the homelink using the basic directions, but after it wasn't working I found the re-learn/train instructions, and that worked. Total install took me under 4 hrs, and that's including the 30+ minutes it took to program the Homelink. link to DIY ---> https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...ort-w-nav.html

Jon, is your car red or are your mirror caps differently-colored than your car?

I was thinking about doing red caps on my car.

I broke 25k sometime in July... now I'm over 37k. I would love to hit 40k by year's end... and I would too, if I weren't going on an overseas trip for the better part of a month.

This is going to be the longest I've been away from my Fit. Until now, I've never been away from my Fit for more than 4 days. @.@

I believe our definitions of "a little late" differ greatly
