Had the rear fenders pulled a little more so I'm back at my old height again except with spacers. Oh what I would give to be able to throw shims in the rear-- to fix the toe and have a tiny bit of camber.

Hi Burzpaw,
Could you please give me the name and contact for the person who do your fender pull? I might need to roll my fender more soon...
Thanks

BMW,

I agree with you on cars that are ridiculously "stanced out." You completely ruin the handling of the car and it becomes unsafe to drive. But that's what is cool now. It's even more heartbreaking when you see performance cars like that. A sti, evo, s2k, etc. and they are barely drivable, you completely ruin the car and any performance based potential the car had. I like a lowered and well fitted car as much as the next guy, but there is line you cross that just makes the car perform so much worse.

But too each their own I guess, some people like making cars more functional and others like making them less functional.

But on happier news,

Purchased new EBC green stuff Pads and EBC Ultimax slotted rotors

-3 camber really isn't that much.

I'm planning to run that all around on my S2000....with 255/40/17 ZII Star Specs on 17x9 wheels.

Nick aka Piolk is going for the vip route at the moment and I believe it's kind of like the oni camber that some peeps in Japan are doing with the vip cars-- double digit camber and they're definitely for show not to be functional lol. It's a statement; sure it's not a statement other people find appealing but it's the other side of the spectrum of people that enjoy the "look I can still drive it!" feeling LOL.

dude awesome. yup, that is the guy. Not my thing but crazy impressed to see that it was drivable.

bwm, yup, definitively interested in swapping progressive for stiff linear. I'll probably hit you up in a month or two about that if thats ok. But for breaks, I will source that out, I know it is easy but I just don't do them myself (especially drums).

Haha yea he's still running into issues with his rear setup-- but he's definitely the first US Fit with a fully adjustable rear so far(he can align/change toe and camber).

I'm still against it. Less functional is your own problem. Less safe affects everybody.

Yes, -3 camber on some setup is perfect, for example like yours with 255 and 40 profile tire, that would allow for plenty of side wall height that flex and also the 255 width also allow plenty of grip and plenty of flex so your S2000 tire still can conform to the ground well with enough area of contact.

First, on my setup which the tire is a bit stretch using 215/40/18 and 18x7.5in wheel,my tire contact patch (when I drive straight) is much less when I go to -3 camber, because first of all my 215 do not have as much contact patch as your 255. your 255 is much wider than my 215

Second, side wall height on my 40 profile of 215 (40%x215 vs your 40%x255) is also less tall, again making my tire less "flexible" to bend a bit like yours and allow your tire to conform more to the ground than mine allowing better contact area.
So basically it is about the contact patch area available after -3 camber.

Third, your S2000 suspension design must be far more superior than my Honda Fit in term of suspension geometry allowing the car to follow the road more when the suspension travel/lowered so again better grip available even at minus 3.

Yes -3 is nothing for your S2000, but -3 is bad for mine.

I do know that some Honda Fit owner here that Autocross have -3 camber or more but again look at the height of their sidewall... it is tall and not as low profile as mine allowing the tire to flex... in fact on the car with tall tire sidewall, I bet the -3 camber would give them better grip at the corner than mine at -2.2 camber.

but from what I read on his post, his car is at MINUS 12 (TWELVE) camber all around...

I totally agree,
especially if you use the car for daily drive with your family... I mean, do you want your family (or friend) (or yourself) to get hurt because you lose handling (perhaps you drive and suddenly it rain) just because you want to have the special "different than others" looks?

I mean it is good to be different so you can excel from anybody else,
but to be different and actually perform less, well actually perform dangerously?

The race car have minus camber because the engineer see it need the negative camber, in term of the F1 car, because again the F1 car have TALL side wall ratio and need plenty of negative camber to mitigate that tire flex on the corner, even that I am pretty sure it is not NEGATIVE TWELVE Camber.

I'm less worried about suicidal ricers and their friends as I am about other people on or near the road.

Well I was bored today so I dropped the front end about 3/4" (It was higher than the rear), and stiffened the suspension a few clicks. What a difference! Ride was actually improved (I think this is because front was uneven before, now it is perfect). The front is still maybe a quarter inch higher than the rear, but it looks wayyy better, and if I go any lower it'll rub like crazy with my 205/50R16's. The front does rub on big bumps but other than that it's fine. It's crazy how much of a difference a fraction of an inch can make lol.

I dont want to create a new thread for this question.

What would you value my 2010 Fit Sport, 52k miles, manual transmission, with full authentic Mugen kit, mugen short shifter, mugen floor mats, all weather mats. Good condition, no body damage or curbed up wheels. never been in an accident, air bag recall completed.

Im gonna take it to carmax also to see what they'll offer. It has other modifications but that doesnt raise the value so that why i just listed the Mugen parts that were installed by Honda themselves.

Hello FamilyWagon,

The best way is to go to Kelly Blue Book.com and appraise the car yourself. Please keep in mind that you would want to check your car value using both the parameter set at excellent condition and also fair condition,
because you would want to be the value somewhere in between.
Most dealer would appraise your car value with the parameter set to Fair condition to lower the price they offer you, but you want to counter offer at Excellent condition. They will say the Mugen do not add value especially since I don't think there is a menu to choose for Mugen aftermarket equipment on the Kelly Blue Book appraisal page,
but you can argue due to the Mugen being OEM Honda accessory, you would want them to value your car at excellent condition.
CarMax usually do a better job and FAIR to customer like you.
So I recommend going to CarMax first before going to other dealer so you already have the base on where you should start negotiation.
CarMax would give you an offer certificate that they honor for 1 week,
at least in California, so you can come back to CarMax within 1 week if that is the best offer you can get.

Why I know all of this?
Because,
I was FORCED to worked as a car salesman for the past 2 years so My Family and I can SURVIVE... (We just moved back to this country 3 years ago).

I finally got a breakthrough and secure a job that more inline with my education background last December.

note: I was a really nice car salesman to my customer though, I don't lie, don't cheat and I always got 1000 perfect CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index Survey) , that CSI bonus money from the factory (Infiniti) is what helped me financed my Honda Fit modification, well that and I sold the most car at my dealership for the whole time I work there

Infact right before I left, I was about to install my Brembo brake so I bring the caliper to the dealership office and told my 2 sales managers that, I want to say Thank You to both of you because both of you helped me survive and also help me able to buy this Brembo brake, whenever I see this Brembo on my car, I will always remember it came from the money working for both of you,
Both of my manager really touch and I can see a slight tear in their eye.

Working as a car salesman really open my eye that earning money is very hard
anyway I am now officially a retired car salesman now

KBB says $9,344. I'd say with all the Mugen parts, probably $10-11k. It really all depends what someone is willing to pay, if they have an appreciation for the parts/work done, or if you're selling to a dealer.

CarMax will offer you 7.5-8k.

I think yours SHOULD sell for 10-11k.

Thanks BMW, good work on your part as well. Very respectable. I too a busting my ass for family, Aug our 4th child will be born. Pulling 30-50hrs of OT per pay period right now not counting the side gigs.

About the car, ive looked at nada and kbb, your correct there is no places to mark for Mugen accessories, which we all know buying them through Honda is expensive!

So thats why i was just asking your guys opinions as to what you realistically think i could get for it. Id prefer to part it out, but doesnt seem like much interest in my area.

Thinking of doing retrofit this month, my work demands me to travel a lot locally and my stock headlight bulbs are not doing a good job. Don't want to spend a lot and might actually purchase these kids:

Amazon.com: Nilight® 2.5" Mini HID Bixenon Projector Lens for H1 Bulb Car Gift:chrome Shround: Automotive Amazon.com: Nilight® 2.5" Mini HID Bixenon Projector Lens for H1 Bulb Car Gift:chrome Shround: Automotive

Hopefully someone has some feedback on them..
