What did you do to your GE fit today?
How do you guys think a 2014 Civic Si steering wheel would look on the Fit? Also, I'm not 100% sure if the buttons can be used (using something like the Metra Axxess AWSC-1), and the cruise control button seems to just be a button instead of a push and click button (I know that's hard to understand lol). It's got red stitch and leather which is why I'm very interested, the only thing is that it says "SI" on the bottom.
My maplight parts finally arrived today!

I'm going to be installing it in my base this weekend. I got all the require parts listed in this thread and will be following the DIY guide : https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...t-base-ge.html .
Also, I found a local dealer with JDM power folding mirrors with blinkers (*jumps around*), just need to have them painted since they don't have in white and then take it to a local shop which makes all the magic possible (auto fold with alarm/ignition, blinks, etc) but that will have to wait until next paycheck. Joys of living in a caribbean country where you have the option of buying a Sport version or the RS, hate the mosquitoes and the heat tho.

I've seen beautiful RS here from a range of colors such as blue, orange, yellow ones although they are pretty rare since my country is full of the base JDM version of the Fit. The problem with the JDM version is the lack of the replacement parts whereas USDMs parts can just be bought from Amazon, eBay, etc and easier to get them shipped over. When I got my USDM last year my lack of knowledge didn't know there was an RS version already, there was a time where I wanted to sell it and order an RS from a dealer but it wasn't worth the hassle even though they tend to be cheaper here. When the steering wheel is adapted is not often a professional job but a "workshop" job which in the long run you will see problems with Everything that has to do with the steering of your car so people are skeptical when it comes to buying jaPanese cars, that doesn't stop them, but again like I said, the RS is really rare. 40 Out of 50 JDM Fits are the base version and since they are are so cheap to import we have the country full of those.
And know comes the topic of selling your car, if you have the USDM people compare it to the JDM and won't pay you what it's worth even tho the sport is a "safer" version, they don't seem to note the difference and just go for the cheaper options (JDM).
Advantages tho? you can find things like power folding mirrors in local shops, molds for the whole RS kit, bunch of JDM tail lights, etc.
ok did a dry fitment of the brakes and rims. I am just barely scraping on my 16's.... So question becomes... I need a spacer. which one should I order and what thickness would I need to take just barely scraping to a safe distance? And will this require longer studs?
On the other hand, still beats the 12-15mpg I get on my V8 4Runner.
If it's just barely scraping you could run 3mm and you won't need longer studs for those. 5mm is still safe but is definitely the limit for stock studs.
if you could get away with just 5mm spacer, then you would not need longer studs.
If you need more than 5mm, then you would need longer studs or you can buy ADAPTER instead of spacer.
but I think the thinnest adapter version is 15mm...
The easiest example if the Ichiba Brand.
Their version 1 is pure wheel spacer that might or might not need longer studs.
Their version 2 is pure wheel adapter that do NOT need longer studs.
here are the links:
FIT 06+
For me, I only use wheel spacer with EXTENDED and much stronger ARP Studs. I use H&R wheel spacer for my application.
My H&R wheel spacer do came with extended studs from H&R but I decide to upgrade to ARP studs anyway, but again this require disassembly of your hub and need to replace wheel bearing...
so for your application,
either go with just 5mm spacer or get a 15mm ADAPTOR and that will avoid hassle of changing stud
This is the exact page for Ichiba Ver2 Wheel adaptor for our Honda Fit with 15mm thickness.
ICHIBA Version 2 Hubcentric Wheel Spacers 15MM
the description show it came with extended studs but that is a mistake of Ichiba, it actually come with extra lug nuts, and take a look at the picture between their version 1 and 2 and you will see the differences

appreciated, ichiba 5mm has been ordered. I'll evaluate to see if I am comfortable without swapping out the studs. If so I will definitely go arp.
last question of the day, I'm ordering a 3rd set of rims. (will be used as the summer, commuter rims).

I am super sketchy on what I need to pick as an offset. anyone have any advice?

Install took about 30 mins, it is basically a bigger dome light map, that means you just need to connect it directly to the dome map and you are pretty much done. I will post pics later as I'm far from my laptop at the moment.

I already own the rubber for 16x8, plus my current 16's are very el cheapo, nothing you would be interested. They are going to be used for winter duty.
Oh ok. I didnt know what wheels you had.

Power is being spaced/shared between maplight and domelight. The DIY guide is more detailed on this part, but trust me the connection is pretty simple to do.
It does and only cost about $45 including all the wiring, cheap mod for us lacking a decent interior lightning system.
