Anyone have a good way of contacting (email or phone) Choro-Q Fit? He's been offline for almost 2 months and we were in the middle of going through with a deal. Thanks
About doing rear rigid collars, I'm wondering if it would cause extra stress on the front (without collar). I was recommended not to do just the torque mount because it would stress the other mounts. Just a thought. Sorry to hear the delay on the rsb.
Might hold off on the rigid collars now, but I am planning on doing both sets at once if I go that route.
I found out I can get all the hardware I wanted from EBC from Amazon for cheaper than the USD price for a kit (rotors and pads) from most US sites. The brakes will need to be done this spring anyways, so I may as well get an upgrade while I'm at it. If I can snag the Goodridge lines for a good price, I'll probably add them to the list.
Well today I replaced my rear shock absorbers, I didn't go with OEM but with an aftermarket shocks that had good reviews both locally and online. I also painted my rear spoiler white to better match my Fit, I'm too lazy to upload pictures but I can assure that the color blends REALLY good with my tafetta white (props to the guys at the paint shop and their amazing paint job to make it match).
There's something that has been bothering me for a while, my FIT stalls when I hit the gas while still COLD, this happens mostly in the morning or when the car hasn't been used for a few hours. I had my valves adjusted couple weeks ago (maybe 2 months) but that didn't seem to fix the problem, I even considered swapping the battery for a new one but I took it to a battery shop and they told me mine was just fine. I ended following an advice from an auto shop I went to today and they recommended me I start using some kind of liquid additive, I bought some and I'm being positive that this will fix the issue, if not, I don't know what will
I also did some maintenance on my brakes, I replaced my front rotors and my pads about 3 months ago but for some reason I hear a cranky noise whenever I brake. The guy from the auto shop said this happens when the brakes are new so I have to let them "settle in" for a couple more weeks to see if the problem is fixed. Nonetheless, he sanded the pads a bit and applied some kind of "oil" on them.
Last but not least, I'm thinking about removing my STI Lip, it keeps falling off from my bumper or I either keep scratching it at the bottom (I live in a country where there are too many bumps and bad streets). I might end up buying the All-Fit Front Lip in white color (saw some videos on youtube stating the All-Fit have better quality than the famous EZLip).
Btw, is it just me or everything makes noise inside the little fit ? Even if a clip falls off from your tailgate cover you can hear it just fine when driving (this happened to me and was driving me crazy), maybe is my OCD kicking in.
How hard was changing the spark plugs? I've wanted to do that for some time now...
I actually wouldn't have any idea, I dropped the Fit at my mechanic and he spent about 2-3 hours replacing the spark plugs. I don't really like to do that kind of maintenance myself.
Quite late as it happened on Thursday and Friday, but whatever. Thursday made the drive over to Suzuka, we left my friend's Liberace (Miata) at the hotel and then drove over to Osaka to visit J's and have the rear active suspension pieces installed and have an alignment done. Umehara-san recommended going to a 10k spring in the rear and I was definitely OK with that as I meant to up the spring rates when I had them rebuilt earlier this year. Afterwards drove back over to Suzuka and spent the night at one of the hotels on the premises.
Friday morning, wake up, open the curtains and it is SUNNY, welcome surprise as it was supposed to be a very wet day. It means the A050s I brought along just in case would be used. Though it was still quite a damp/wet track in the early afternoon session and the second session that followed was a mix of wet and dry track. I ended up 3rd in class and was .024 seconds from 2nd place. I bettered my time from last year and probably would have bettered it a bit more if the track was full on dry. The car was definitely faster, last year I managed just 170~1km/h on the straights and this year was up to 183km/h (still quite slow), but all those ¥enjamins spent really did make an improvement. Also the rear active sussy pieces, really made the car feel great in the esses and 130R, though in 130R I was still a bit hesitant to just PUSH the damn go pedal. For one, there was an AccordR that went off (hard) and yellow flags were waving most of the session and then a Civic R went off at 130R, but on the inside of the corner and the corner was laced with quite a bit of dirt from somebody else. No excuses really, I just need to capture back some of my youth and be Nike (Just Do It).
I can't stress it enough, if you ever get the chance to drive Suzuka, please don't pass up the opportunity. My friend, it was his first time there and his reaction afterwards was exactly what I was expecting, he says he doesn't want to lap anywhere else afterwards. It really is that great of a track, there is nowhere that you are not fully engaged, well maybe a slight bit on the straights with a slow car, but the end of those 2 straights are exciting corners that will easily bite your ass, especially when damp.
Stupid me, I didn't start the GoPros in the 2nd session and have zero footage where my times were 10+ seconds faster than the 1st session. That sucks, but it just means I'll have to do Suzuka again (damn that is a hard choice to make). I did pop a gasket or something on the exhaust, still need to check it out. It happened on the back straight coming out of Spoon curve, I went to shift to 5th, but somehow managed 3rd...quickly engaged the clutch and went to 5th. Engine still stout, but suddenly the car sounded louder inside the cabin, actually sounded quite mean with my helmet on. It wasn't till I was back in the pits and packing up, I started the car and realized the exhaust sound was coming from the middle of the car and my CEL was on and the code related to the secondary sensor reading low. Was lazy this weekend and weather was garbage, so I'll take a look at it soon.

Sounds like a blast man. Glad your only issue was a minor exhaust one.
On another note, OEM window visors got here today, and I'm planning to get window tint done this week sometime. Washed and waxed her recently and damn does the red look nice. Hopefully in the near future I'll have my hands on Mugen floor mats, Spoon rear view, and these Clazzio seat covers that I've been waiting on Choro-Q Fit for. Also have my heart set on a turbo kit in the next handful of years, and as much as I'd like to I feel like it won't happen.

Much appreciated.
The red, when it is all clean, it just looks amazing.
Put a wheel trade ad up on Honda tech. Anyone local to D.C. area or within driving distance interested in trading wheels for my Volk TE37? Really wanting some 15" or 16" CE28's. Let me know if your interested
What made you go with an OEM filter vs a K&N or something else?
Few factors beside pricing ($15 vs $45), I live overseas and the K&N requires an oil maintenance twice a year, I can't acquire such oil since is not available locally and courier policies wouldn't allow me to ship it home. Also, although I have used aftermarket replacement products in the past, I'm not a fan and always try to go OEM on these kind of stuff.
Anyways, so I finally picked up the All-Fit Lip Kit.
Package was about 2 pounds:
Since my Base is a Tafetta White, I took the risk and ordered the white version they released couple months ago:
The package came with lot of goodies, included some alcohol paper to clean the bumper, bunch of stickers and a mini lanyard/keychain.
Here's the lip installed, surprisingly the white really blends with the Tafetta's:
Another pic so you can see is the same height as the side skirts:
Installation was really easy, spent about 15 minutes maybe less. It came with really strong 3m tape and also some clips you attach to the bumper with screws (this is optional). Corners are tricky tho, you need to make small triangle-shape cuts so you can bend it.
Ah well one thing to note is that my fenders are rolled and I'm not running any liners. 17x7.5 with 195/40. I don't know how low you are but I don't think you'd max out your coils for function lol-- 18" with 215/40 is pretty big but if you only have a mild drop I don't think it should be a problem if you have some minor fender work already done.
I only rub on really big dips(there's one on the off ramp when I go to school) and that's only from the front of the fender where it meets the front bumper.
Hi Burzpaw,
Do you think you would be able to make your rear offset to 33
instead of 37 now? (without rubbing)...?
Do you have pictures of the rear tire and rear fender?
I really would like to see them if you have...
and what is the width of your rear wheel?
Thanks

My last set of wheels were 17x7.5 +38 with 195/40 rubber. I tried 5mm on it to make +33 in the rear and I wouldn't rub on the edge of the fenders but somewhere inside the wheel well that I couldn't figure out. It wasn't crazy but it happened often when I had weight in the back(guitar amp).
The set I'm on now is 17x7.5 also but +42 with the same 195/40. I have +5 on it to make it +37 and was thinking of doing another 3mm to make it +34 (thinking 1 mm might make a difference with the rubbing I had before haha). If I get to it I will let you know-- I don't think you'll run into the rubbing issue I have because you're ride height is higher than mine I believe. I can take some pics of how my wheel to fender looks but there's definitely a little bit of space, it just rubbed somewhere else within the fender well.

Hi Burzpaw,
On my car,
Previously the rub were at the fender near the 3 o'clock position.
about 2 to 3in above where the fender meet the side skirt.
Currently I had a JDM Mugen Side Skirt and the side skirt part where it mount to the fender were intrude into the inside fender and the upper edge of it have rubbing mark. It rub there when I have my older wheel size 18x7et42 with 225/40ZR18 tires.
But now I use 18x7.5et 48 with 215/40ZR18 and it do not rub there...
the 18x7et42 and 18x7.5et48 outer side
actually happened to be right at the same position to the fender,...
it is just that the 18x7.5et48 inner side is 12mm more inside
then the 18x7et42...
that mean the smaller 215/40ZR18 tire that I use now combine with wider 7.5in wheel stretch it more toward inside and that is why no more rubbing the JDM Mugen Side Skirt...
Still if I you can install 3mm spacer and make yours et33,
then after cut/grind the edge of my JDM Mugen Side Skirt mounting,
I should not rub since as you had point out I am not as lower as you and my rear spring at 4k rate should be hard enough to not let my car go too low...
The reason I really need to know whether et33 is doable for you
is because I need to decide whether to buy a 15mm spacer or 12mm spacer for the rear,
then decide how many mm I need to grind my ARP stud...
because I want to grind/cut the ARP stud as minimal as possible.
If I don't grind/cut the ARP stud that I had to use open style lug nut and
I prefer to use my BBS lug nut...
This afternoon I grind the ARP stud right before the thread start
and I can use my BBS wheel lock/nut with 15mm spacer combo
for the front axle and it is fine for the front axle.
but if I need to use 12mm spacer (for the rear axle),
then I need to grind 3mm more into the threaded area of the ARP stud...
and I don't like to grind threaded area because I worry I might destroy the thread...
plus once you grind/cut the stud, you can not go back...
so I better make sure...
I also want to grind the ARP stud before I install my RS rear axle on my car, so those fire sparks from my electric grinder while cutting the ARP stud will not fly around and hit the paint/body...
I mean to be safe I can always get just 10mm or 12mm spacer,
but just like you,
I want to be at maximum stance without rubbing
So looking forward to your experiment with another 3mm spacer,
I certainly hope you will not rub, so I can follow your footstep soon
