All of you coerced me into really railing against them because their minions (namely you all) have all sold your souls to them and don't have enough free will to admit Honda is on a downslide as has been for a while.

In not so harsh terms, I sort of understand what you are getting at. Honda might be slipping. Which is why I have not pulled the trigger just yet. But I think still, compared to the rest, I will still buy another Honda soon.

Really you need to look into a mirror and ask yourself, why can I not comprehend EPA fuel ratings and how it relates to driving conditions and other factors that will give you a number specific to your vehicle. The car in your possession gives you the EPA number and you are pissed off and say Honda has failed and want to know what is wrong. Would you be able to tell us what is wrong with you?

Absolutely you are the typical person of today. You will not at all be missed on the forums, I'm sure you don't care about that and will retort that I am another one who sucks off Honda. How exactly is that done by the way? I mean I could understand if Soichiro was alive and standing in front of somebody and dropped trousers and said, "open your mouth and take all I feed you, it is the best." Well at that point your comment about sucking off Honda would be legitimate, but as I already stated, you're the typical whining, bitch of a human that plagues the Earth today.

Take care and hopefully you find a vehicle that will be the tampon you need.

Thanks for the pseudo-hip insight, Honda loyalist. Once again, nothing of substance whatsoever from a devoted worshiper. It's really amazing.

I'm sorry that your real life milage of 30 mpg isn't close enough to the EPA estimated milage of 31 mpg. Have fun with your next car; you'll be missed here.

What help, or insight do you need beyond what has been provided in this thread? It sounds like your mileage isn't that bad.

Are there stoplights on your highway trips?

OMG guys. I got 29 mpg once in my Fit, time to sell.

Or shoot, what about that time I got 27 in my Integra.

Or how I never got more than 22 in my 4 cyl. Galant.

Or when I got 8 in my Avenger (Don't ask me how that happened, I don't know).

Its commonplace that cars don't live up to their EPA ratings, however my Fit has almost always surpassed them for me.

Don't worry, you all will be in my rear view soon enough as I change to the other car manufacturers who have actually accomplished things over the past few years instead of resting on their laurels and depending on people who can't tell the difference between the company that was and the company that is to still get them by.

By the way, since by your own admission there is absolutely nothing wrong with my car, you would probably be interested in purchasing. I'm asking $15,500. What a steal on the most perfect car ever made!

These two statements prove that you completely miss the point of this whole thread.

Would you still be happy if you got 29 every time you got in your Fit, even with 80% highway driving? If so, why?

Not that bad compared to what? A Dodge Durango? Or the EPA estimates that Honda laid out for this car?
And, more to the point, if there are so many other cars nowadays (which there are) that give equal or better fuel mileage, in a roomier car, with more pep and livelier acceleration, why is the Fit so great? this is the question every single person on here seems to want to badly avoid answering.

The EPA estimate is 31mpg. To the later, price point, reliability, and total cargo volume.

Okay, "more to the point" then. Let's get down to brass tacks on the issue instead of bickering, and I'll show you why the Honda Fit it so great without resorting to fanboisim.

You've neglected a few important factors in your proposed comparison so far. Let's hear it. What's this elusive car that keeps popping up?

This whole thread has nothing of substance. A poster who cries foul because the world is not fair, party A, D, X and Z get this fuel rating, but Honda is a failure because I also do not achieve the same, even though climates, terrain and other factors play a part in FE, I will ignore it completely and whine and whine. Mommy help me, Honda is out to get me and their quality has gone to shit because we have only achieved the EPA rating and not a better number.

NOTHING IS WRONG WITH YOUR FIT!!! What do you want people to offer you? Some have given you suggestions another poster who was in the same area you are in got guess what, the equivalent FE you are getting. Then moved to another part of the country and his FE went up, so damn Honda. It is Honda's fault that you choose to live where you live and actually achieve a bullshit number made up a government agency, Honda didn't make up the number, they are required to publish the numbers the EPA gives them from their bullshit tests.

Yes I love me some Honda, not going to deny that. My second son even bears the name Soichiro after the man you say we all suck off. I can only hope he becomes even half as successful in his lifetime. Just because I love the company doesn't mean I bow to their every decision. Unfortunately you will disagree on that front At least with the great resale value you can recoup most of the cost.

Is that the same Hyundai being taken to court in California for supposedly duping it's customers into believing the mileage is 40MPG? He will fit right in it seems with the people that can't seem to read fine print.

Would I be as happy? No.

Would I be mad? No, unlike you I do enough research before buying a vehicle to where I know what to expect.

But hey, there are people who use their brain, and then there's you.

Oh, the one with a base price of $21,670?

Let's do a cargo and passenger volume comparison despite the different classes of cars.

Sonata:
45.5 / 34.6 leg room
103.8 passenger volume
16.4 cargo volume

Fit:
41.3 / 34.5 leg room
90.8 passenger volume
20.6 / 57.3 cargo volume

With depreciation on the Fit, plus the cost of the new vehicle we are also looking at, let's say, minimum 5 grand. How about some math?

$3.382 regular fuel price average today..

..buys you 1478 gallons of gas for 5 grand.

That's 44,352 miles of travel at your current shitty 30 mpgs.

Then your devotion to a car company bears much more than a "love me some Honda" resemblance. It also shows that you must be the biggest idiot on this whole planet. Congrats on handing your son a lifetime of insults and beatdowns.

You mean, "enough research" equals 29 mpg?
That's what you just said. Speaking of people who don't use their brain....
