What is wrong with my Fit??
BIG difference between that and Honda grossly misrepresenting real world highway mileage on its Fit, which it has.
Nice try, but you fail.
Honda has grossly misrepresented the highway mileage? I fail? hahahaha keep going you are full of jokes. Like I said, you would fit in with the masses that can not read the fine print. Please reread what you quoted from me and try once again to comprehend the words typed out. I'll help you because even Google Maps wouldn't get you in the right place. Supposedly, Hyundai, customers, duped, believing, 40mpg, fine print.
Momma always said stupid is as stupid does, run Seb run.

Hyundai Sonata (same mpg, MUCH more interior room.)
Mazda 3
Mazda 5 (Skyactiv technology was a huge breakthrough, something I would have expected from Honda in its former days, obviously not now since they are more content to rest on their laurels. Oh, also the last car company to be dragged kicking and screaming into the modern age of CVT and direct injection.)
Subaru Impreza
Ford Focus
Nissan Versa Hatchback
Kia Soul (again, equal fuel mileage, MUCH more interior AND cargo space.)
I could go on with some European cars but choose not to, because I have obviously proven my point.
A lifetime of beatdowns and insults? That is quite hilarious. Obviously you have no clue about the great Soichiro Honda and what he accomplished coming from nothing and from a family without any sort of influence in Japan. It's why Toyota and Nissan pleaded with the powers that be to not allow him to make cars as he was a peasant and not worthy to provide automobiles to the masses in Japan. Toyota would not even look at the piston rings he made and tried to sell Toyota to use in their engines. If somebody wants to insult and lay a smackdown on my son for being named after somebody who pretty much self-made the company that it is, the LARGEST internal combustion engine maker in the world then I would have to say they would be the biggest idiot on the planet and you occupy the spot next to them for even thinking up this crazed scenario. And guess what, if that is the case it will only make him stronger and strive for greatness. I'm sure he won't end up the whiny bitch that you have become, your mom must be so proud of how she raised you. Or is that how it is done in Arkansas?

Be sure to go get snipped so you can't produce any more ignorant humans, explain to the doctor to just come read this thread, I'm sure you won't even be charged.

Again you show your profound knowledge when it comes to Honda. I knew about these motors long ago, but I figured I would find something for you to read, not sure why though as your comprehension is at about a stay in the lines level.

Did you see the post I made comparing the Fit, Sonata, and how much a financial disaster trading cars is based on MPGs? Read that and get back to me.
As for the Kia Soul having MUCH more interior and cargo space?
Fit: 57.3
Soul: 53.4
Yes, you read that right, the Fit has more cargo space. At least research your claims a little bit.
Legroom Soul: 40.2 / 39.6
Legroom Fit: 41.3 / 34.5
Spend a lot of time in the back seat? The Fit's rear legroom is actually within .1 inch of the Sonata btw.
And regarding direct injection engines. Reliability has yet to be proven.
Your comparison cars are all awful, sans maybe the Mazda 5, which is a strong value in my opinion. And out of all of those, you only included 2 subcompacts, the class of car the Fit is in (in case you didn't know.)
I'm done here.
Why are such a high proportion of new members this year belligerent ignoramuses?
How on earth do you guys remember to breathe let alone get financing on a car?
Bulking up on the ol' ignore list like I'm at Costco lol

What I don't get is that he had a perfectly reasonable objection: "I don't like the busy shifting feel." Its a valid opinion to have about the car and certainly not factually wrong. And if it bothers someone that much, I can totally see trading for another car; though I would certainly think that they should do a better job researching the next choice. But hey, we all make mistakes. I just don't get the expectation to get higher than EPA numbers or it's false advertising.
So, congrats-- you just contradicted one of your very own. It must really suck to be you.
Then why does Honda list the manual tranny as getting worse fuel mileage? Basically, what you are saying is that they fudged the numbers on the auto tranny so more people would buy it even though they couldn't get the actual mileage they quote.
And I am fully aware of how to drive a manual for either a) performance or b) economy. My mom is not. Thus the auto tranny.

The EPA tests cars, and calculates fuel economy numbers using complex formulas and requires the car manufacturers to post those numbers they provide for city, highway and combined. Car manufacturers cannot fudge numbers! The best they can do is try to engineer their cars to maximize the numbers put out by the EPA tests.
The calculations they use change as they try to keep up with emerging technologies, and are not entirely accurate. For example, hybrids. The tests when hybrids emerged did not take into account how hybrids work and the fuel economy numbers for them were wildly inaccurate. So it doesn't surprise me that an automatic might be rated higher than a manual but in real driving conditions the manual get much higher fuel economy. The EPA test isn't taking into account all the tricks you can perform with a manual transmission to improve economy, it's just running it on a treadmill and recording results.
My wife has a CX-5, I must say I'm entirely impressed. She's getting better mileage (33 combined) with an SUV than some of the people here say they are getting with their FITs.
If I could have gotten a manual transmission with the Touring edition, I'd have been all over it. Stupid move, Mazda.

It's become apparent you are not worth my energy (as it has become apparent to other members), and I will not go through each of those poor choices.

There seems to be a misconception by people here that Honda provides fuel economy numbers. THEY DON'T. HONDA DOES NOT PROVIDE FUEL ECONOMY NUMBERS. Fuel economy numbers are provided by THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT by the EPA.

But I know better. Fact is, hardly any of you EVER use the Fit for cargo, or enough groceries to warrant that space. Let me repeat that: once again, your life does not need the cargo space, so its irrelevant. You use it as an around town car, just as I wanted to do--the real reason to buy this car based on its fuel mileage claims, which in my case turn out to be completely false. ANY of those other cars I mentioned would average 29 mpg same as my Fit, yet smoke it in performance.
Also those other cars wouldn't average 29mpg if you were driving them, they'd get 26 and you'd be on some other forum bitching about it because you don't have the common sense to know that Honda doesn't provide fuel economy numbers, the US Government does.
Now you're just pulling stuff from your ass. I haul a big ass Great Pyr around in my Fit, and mountain bikes are in the back of it about every other day. They wouldn't fit in any of the other cars you mention because only the Fit has the great back seats. The only other car I'd consider with what I haul is a Honda Element, but I couldn't find a used one I was satisfied with.
Also those other cars wouldn't average 29mpg if you were driving them, they'd get 26 and you'd be on some other forum bitching about it because you don't have the common sense to know that Honda doesn't provide fuel economy numbers, the US Government does.

How do you propose I eliminate the possibility that it is every Fit, and not just mine?
