Grand Debut?

I'm pretty skeptical about any grand debut. Just returned from my dealer, where a good friend works in the fleet department. Yesterday, he had three Fits in Arizona that were assigned to his dealership. Today, he has only two. Their ETA is listed as 06/02-6/06. So much for that.

Dealer provided me with a loaner car today, as the daughter gets my 2006 Civic on her birthday tomorrow.

The one EX-L on the list better not disappear...

All who are getting to know their dealer's on a first name basis by visiting the dealer over and over again. I bet your new best friend at the dealer will give each of you the deal of a life time when they finally release the Fit.

Let's hear about who paid the most to get the first fit sold in your town.

The reason Honda moved production to Mexico was to be able to sell many more Fits each year. There will not be a supply problem if you take a deep breath and exhale slowly. Wait till July - August and save yourself a bunch of cash.

I am.

You are right Dave. No sense being the first to buy at full price. Wait till your local dealers lot is full of 2015 fits then it's time to make a deal.

We have no choice since we have no car. When we arrive at our new home it's a Fit if available...or not. That's in 3 weeks at the Gulf Coast.

Really? I thought the 2013 Fits were still selling near or at MSRP. The big "deals" being offered were low rate financing. And a $500 discount for military.

I paid MSRP a week ago for a 2015 EX CVT. How much do you think you can save if you wait 2 months?

I agree with Brian, i have mine reserved at MSRP but my salesman said they could probably move a few hundred dollars (down).
Certainly wont hurt to ask for it! I have seen some ripoff dealers already boosting the MSRP but I don't fell to is the norm around me anyway. With the number of units the will supposedly produce I would think a desler would be shooting himself in the foot to attempt to make an extra $1000

At least one that we know of for sure and two more that were reported second hand. I can report that the numbers on cars.com indicates that 80 cars that were listed last week disappeared this week. Whether those represent delivered cars, I cannot say. But certainly it is a fact that Finally At least one Fit has indeed been sold and delivered!

2013 Fits continue to sell at a rate of about 620/week and with 1645 2013 fits left in inventory, they should all be gone in 3 weeks. And sometime in the next week or so, there will be more 2015s in dealers inventories than 2013s.

1126 cars are shown in the inventories of 245 dealers. And this is actually fewer dealers than reported last week. So either some dealers sold the cars they had listed, or somehow removed them from the cars.com inventory.

The highest VIN that I have seen so far is 11017. This indicates 1154 cars were built in the past week. All different styles, LX, EX and EX-L, transmissions, CVT and 6MT and colors, all except Yellow, were added to the inventories in the past 7 days. So production of almost all different varieties of Fits is continuing.

Hopefully, by this time next week, lots of people will have received their cars
I might not be using cars.com search correctly but it is showing 2,573 2015 fits on their site and only 1,301 2013 fits. I am pretty sure none of those dealers have any 2015's on their lots yet. I really thought a few GK's would have trickled out by now. So Brianflys is really the only one to have received one so far that we know of? And June 9th and 15th are the two dates now floating for the first deliveries?

As of this minute there are 1270 2015 fits and 1294 2013 fits on cars.com. Saturday is a big selling day, so this will change every hour or so.

I agree, it is most surprising that many more cars have not yet been listed nor been delivered to the dealers.

More than 12,150 2015 fits have been manufactured so far, yet only 10% are even shown as incoming to dealers.

The official Honda sales numbers for May indicate that a total of 4 2015 Fits (non Japan manufactured) were sold in May.

I can only speculate that Honda is holding all cars for some specific "official" release date.

My dealer said mine was already IN Texas. He said that normally means it should be in the stock in a couple of days.

Exactly, I called fifteen dealers in my vicinity last week and they also all did not have a clue. One of them even told me to hold on that he had some top honda brass at his dealership and he would ask them. When he came back on the phone he said they could not or would not give him any info. It is very frustrating for those of us who are ready to purchase this car and can get no good info on delivery dates. As Tcrowly say's there have been over twelve thousand GK's produced and are sitting somewhere. WHERE THE HELL ARE THEY. Someone go find them please. I might post a reward soon.

I'd given up talking to regular sales persons, and ended up just talking to managers. I actually had a dealership in Houston LOCATE a manual trans for me at another dealership in the state and put me in touch with them. Once the car arrived in Texas, I put down my deposit. I'm without a car, so I'm willing to travel!

Unfortunately, most of the dealers in Houston either did not order any manuals or they will be showing up in July. I talked to one dealership (Spring Branch Honda) that swore they had 2 manuals coming in June sometime, but I ended up with rude staff that started badmouthing other dealers. I just got an oogy bad vibe from them, and decided that I would rather take a bus to another city to pick up my car than buy from them.

The awesome dealership that found the car for me elsewhere in the state has 1 blue manual coming to HTown in July. If you aren't in a huge rush, I can give you their contact info!

Yes, finding manual transmission Fits is going to be quite a challenge for at least a few months. Even then, I am not sure that we will find them very plentiful. For the GE fits, manual transmission cars seemed to make up 13% to 15% of the cars listed on cars.com. But so far, the production mix of manuals has been less than 5%, even since they began producing them about a month ago. My dealer has told me that they will only bring in manuals on special order and did not intend to stock any manuals in inventory.

I've been to many dealerships in LA area over the past few years that had at least 2 cars out of 10 with manual transmissions. A dealer in Covina once had something like 30 Fits of which there were about 8 with manual transmission. I will look for a picture in a second.

Well, I was hopeful that by this time we would have had hundreds of cars showing up at dealers and perhaps some additional deliveries. Alas, that is not the case. We have received no new delivery reports, or even calculations that would indicate deliveries have started in earnest.

2013 Fits continue to sell, now at a rate of about 60/day and there are now just 1260 2013 Fits left on cars.com. While there are now 1274 2015s listed. Still, there must be some Honda distribution centers overflowing with unaccounted for 2015s since the serial numbers indicate that there have now been more than 12,200 new Fits manufactured so far.

I have now found at least one Fit in 40 of the 46 possible configurations; LX CVT, LX 6MT, EX CVT, EX 6MT, EX-L and EX-L navi in every color combination, except Mystic Yellow Pearl, a color that it appears has not yet started production.

As already reported, manual transmission Fits continue to be rare with only 28 of the 1274 cars listed on cars.com being 6MTs. My Modern Steel Metallic EX 6 MT has yet to be built and I am thinking it may be August before I will get my car that I ordered in March.

Looking ahead, this next week is the one that Honda has referenced in several statements as the week when 2015 Fits will start being sold. So let's hope they haven't changed that plan yet again.
