Waiting for 2015 Honda Fit to go on sale?
Well, I finally see inventory coming to SoCal, at least in theory. Honda of Hollywood now shows a 11 '15 Fits, including 3 LXs. One EX-L-N is listed in white, No sticks, though.
I doubt that they have cars on the lot yet, but at least they have enough confidence to put them on their own site.
My local dealer doesn't show any and their web site doesn't even have the ability to select the '15 model year. No real loss, though, as they have a lousy reputation.

Sunday night weekly update
So here is my weekly update. While cars are still not available in dealerships to purchase, there is some promising news to report over the past 7 days:
First, and most important, Honda has announced that cars will officially go on sale by the middle of June. My dealer has told me June 9. That is just 2 more weeks!
Second, 10 manual transmission cars have shown up in inventories including 1 EX and 9 LX manual transmission cars.
Third, all colors, except Mystic Yellow Pearl, have shown up this week, including 7 Aegean Blue cars, 4 White Orchid Pearl cars a and 2 Passion Berry Pearl cars. While that is not allot, it indicates that each of these colors are finally being produced and should start showing up on lots within the next 60 days or less. But I would not expect anything but EX CVT cars in Black, Silver, Grey or Red before July.
2013 Fits continue to sell, although at an even slower rate, as the inventory gets depleted. Right now there are 2212 2013 Fits listed and they are disappearing at a rate of 83 cars per day. Interestingly, Honda seems to still be finding some additional 2013s to give to dealers, as 50 additional ones were listed this week.
The highest serial number 2015 Fit I have seen so far is number 9863. So we can assume that is the total number of 2015 fits produced so far. This is 1563 more cars than there were last week and that is a build rate of about 195 cars per day. So production looks to be now be at the 70,000/year rate that Honda had announced as their sales goal for the Fit.
Only 1088 of those 9863 cars are presently listed on cars.com in the inventories of 250 dealers. Considering that there are more than 1000 Honda dealers in the US and 800 of them do list their cars on cars.com, I think we can safely assume that there are now plenty of cars to go around, once Honda release the cars and dealers get the OK from Honda to begin delivering Fits.
While we still don't have our cars, the numbers indicate that this was a very good week for those of us anxiously waiting our cars to be made. My dealer told me that my Modern Steel metallic 6MT EX is scheduled for early June production and delivery approximately 30 to 60 days from then. He said that I would have a VIN as soon as it is produced.

. At least one that we know of for sure and two more that were reported second hand. I can report that the numbers on cars.com indicates that 80 cars that were listed last week disappeared this week. Whether those represent delivered cars, I cannot say. But certainly it is a fact that Finally At least one Fit has indeed been sold and delivered!
2013 Fits continue to sell at a rate of about 620/week and with 1645 2013 fits left in inventory, they should all be gone in 3 weeks. And sometime in the next week or so, there will be more 2015s in dealers inventories than 2013s.
1126 cars are shown in the inventories of 245 dealers. And this is actually fewer dealers than reported last week. So either some dealers sold the cars they had listed, or somehow removed them from the cars.com inventory.
The highest VIN that I have seen so far is 11017. This indicates 1154 cars were built in the past week. All different styles, LX, EX and EX-L, transmissions, CVT and 6MT and colors, all except Yellow, were added to the inventories in the past 7 days. So production of almost all different varieties of Fits is continuing.
Hopefully, by this time next week, lots of people will have received their cars

I just called fifteen Honda dealers within two hours drive of my home in Naples Florida. I asked them all when they were expecting the new 2015 fit. The responses ranged from in the next couple of days to one dealer who said two or three months from now. The majority of the responses were mostly around the June 15th date. I gave all of them my phone number and told them to call me when it came in so I could give it a test drive.

Now you can practice twiddling your thumbs. And how to calmly deal with the anticipation. I am not sure how others are doing it, but can't say I am doing well with my calm/thumb twiddling..
I keep coming back to this thread maybe 80-100 times a day hoping to see that others are getting word that their local dealers have called them with good news but it is not happening yet. Back to banging my head against the wall as I twiddle my thumbs,
I did not want to rain on your parade when you first posted, but I knew that there was little chance your dealer had actually located you a yellow car, since I have been scouring the inventories of dealers for months and there has not been a single yellow fit show up in any dealers online inventory yet. While I know there had been a few preproduction yellow cars made for the press introduction, I did find it strange that one would be sitting unsold at a Philadelphia dealer.
Your salesperson has shown you that he is a very good actor. And that is putting it as nicely as I can. If you read the posts on this forum you find that most dealer salespeople are the least informed folks in the distribution chain. Just be patient and maybe you will be the first to get a yellow fit. But so far, the factory hasn't built any yellow ones yet, so your wait may be more than a few months.

Welcome to the land of the waiting. We have been waiting since mid-April when some were promised their cars.

So yep, practicing my thumb-twiddling. Will be a master after this is all over.
What is the VIN? Private message me if you prefer not to make it public. If it ends in a number less than 500, then you got one of the pre-poduction cars that were produced for press introduction and systems testing. And as I originally said, that would really be a lucky find!

Honda Fit

There’s nothing like a sabbatical. Just ask any college professor who has taken a year off and returned to teaching with fresh enthusiasm.
Or, ask the Honda Fit. No gasoline-powered Fits were offered during the 2014 model year, although it was available as an electric vehicle.
However, the sabbatical was cut short, as Honda has started shipping the 2015 Fit to dealers.
