Roof mounted light bars in many states have to be covered on road to be legal.
Aux light must be below the center line of the main headlights in most states.
and turn OFF when high beam is on. (I've been puled over multiple times on this and drove away with no issues.. )
You can get dinged if the combined light on each side exceeds the states limits which are loosey goosey and highly variable. YMMV.. Usual limit is 65 watts on high.
My High output driving lights (150W 8" Hellas) are switched on the dash and powered up by the high beam circuit via a relay so if I am using them on the road my dimmer switch drops them when I go to low beam. My fog lights are wired to go on with low beam and have a switch to lock them out as well. (There may be a second switch that overrides them to on..
Thats exactly what I plan on doing with either a 24" or 32" LED light bar. I already have leftover wiring and relay hookups to make it turn on with the high beams.
From the State of CT website on auxiliary lighting. It would seem much of the standards were repealed.
Can I have in addition to my headlights, neon bars that don’t go on with the headlights, but are hooked up separately? None of the manufacturers of neon lamps have certified the color and intensity of their product. The addition of not more than two auxiliary driving lamps, passing lamps, or fog lamps producing white or amber light is allowed provided that they are mounted at a height in accordance with Connecticut State Law Title 14 Sec. 14-96o. In addition, in accordance with Connecticut State Law Title 14 Sec. 14-96y there may be no more than four lamps exceeding 300 candlepower illuminated at the front at any one time. This means that if the headlamp system has two lamps on each side illuminated at any time then the auxiliary lamps must extinguish automatically. Furthermore, any auxiliary lamps of over 300 candlepower must only illuminate with the tail lamps and may not be independent for use on the road. Any additional lamps of less than 300 candlepower must produce amber or yellow or white light.
Now there are provisions in the DMV for snow removal equipment to have no less than 2 and no more than 4 auxiliary headlights to compensate for the plow blade blocking the OEM headlights. There is also a 40MPH limit to these vehicles. Obviously that would not apply in my case.
I found a universal license plate mount from Vision X for auxiliary lights. I may need to do some custom fab to mount properly to the front bumper, but I am excited to do this mod. More to follow once I have more details.
Thank you for that part number. I've been looking for a way to do a vinyl decal of the EarthDreams logo but I like the badge idea too. Gotta go look for more pics of your car now because that hood and stripe kit looks pretty good.

I was doing the same thing, but I gave up and just ordered the badge since I can't find a good render to vector and take to the vynil sticker shack in the mall.
I based the Idea for the hood off the J's Racing livery pattern on the GK. I'm going to have to redo the carbon portion though, since it's already cracking. I would suggest getting quality vynil instead of cheapo stuff at Pep Boys.
I put a rubber all fit lip on it. I don't know if I like it. What do you think?
Do you have a set of black "JDM style" (for a lack of a better name to call them) badges on your fit? If so where did you snag them from? Thinking of color matching my rear plastic and I think a pair of those would look nice.

Thanks!
I don't remember the bay seller I'll have to research it. I think they came from Austrailia and I highly doubt they are real.
