They can learn to drive a proper stick later on!
Ours is a similar story. We had a 2008 Honda Fit 5-speed that we purchased new, but my oldest daughter was having problems with the stick shift. Our original plan was to have her take that car to Knoxville (school), but anyone who knows Knoxville will tell you it is a bunch of hills. Even here in Nashville, where the terrain is much more level, she was having problems, so the decision was made to get her the 2015 Honda Fit with CVT. She loves it!

The GE replaced a jeep grand cherokee, a toyota camry, and a civic hatchback

Far less money spent on bills, and does what those 3 did between themselves. Gas mileage, fun, passenger carrying, and the fit does actually have some traction in bad weather.

Technically, it also replaced an isuzu rodeo and a geo metro, as I sold those before deploying to the desert the first time.

My 2010 Fit (showroom model with Navi) replaced a 2007 BMW325xi. Lots of reasons for the trade, but I still cried and took no pleasure in the fit for months. Man did I use the fit. Threw a Thule rack on top for my kayak, dropped the seats and filled it with camping gear and my dog. What's not to love! I even drove 14 crated cats to an adoption event one Sunday. That Fit treated me well, I really learned to appreciate it. I just traded it with 69K miles for a 2015LX. I did swap out the tires for 16" alloys and wheels, (not a fan of wheel covers). The CVT transmission is quite noisy but other than adjusting to Android Navigation via cell phone, I'm liking it.

A 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis. It was my grandma's car that she gave to me for free. I got the Fit because I got my first full time job and I was driving at least 30 miles every day, so I needed something a little more fuel efficient.

My CVT EX-L Navi replaced my 2002 Pontiac Grand Am. I fell in love with the Fit, but wasn't ready for a car payment.... Then an idiot left hand turner into me.... Needless to say my Grand Am was totaled, so I needed a new ride.

RIP Grand Am.... Name: imagejpg1.jpg

I was driving the most reliable Town and Country Chrysler made in 2008. The 20mpg was killing me and when you drive a people hauler, people can always come up with people you can haul-more expense.
My parents are driving it now.
I love my Fit.
You don't buy a Chrysler, someone PUTS one on you.

The 2012 Focus 5MT Sport is being lease-returned tomorrow morning. Dealer still hasn't gotten my car in (I reserved an in-transit ABM EX 6MT) so they'll be giving me a loaner 'til it does finally hit the pavement. Very nice of them.

2003 Ford Sport Trac. Would have kept it except for the 16-18 mpg

Traded my 08 Ford Ranger FX4 Off Road.

She had 130k clicks on her and was about to die soon.

not only that it was expensive to commute all over Ontario with gas prices.

Got 7700$ and MUCH happier I bought a Fit.

My EX replaced a 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8. Got tired of 22mpg and a new set of tires every 20k miles to the tune of a grand per set. I live by myself and own my house w/ mortgage, so I don't want to spend so damn much on my car.

1995 Ford Escort wagon

I replaced a 1995 Ford Escort wagon with 350,000 miles on it. I have ran this one for 20 years. Yes the Fit is faster than the Escort.

I'm coming out of a '04 Ford Focus ZX3 that I really liked, but at 175k was developing issues that would cost more to fix than the car was worth.

What are you coming from?
2003 Ford Focus ZX3, 3 door hatchback; the 2013 Honda Fit Sport is more modern, with the magic seats. The Focus seat bottom folded up in order to fold the seat back flat.
