K&N Filter kit for a Jazz
When you add a new performace Intake System the engine gets more air. ECU will get a feedback from the primary O2 sensor saying that "Hey, I got more Air today, toss in some fuel there!" and ECU increases the Duty Cycle of the injector - thus adding fuel.
Only thing is... When the ECU adds more gas, the engine picks up speed and unless you want to go faster, you let up on the gas and you actually DO NOT burn any more gas for that speed than before... Open loop you need to tweek the ECU mapping a little by reprogramming it...

Btw, you can only tweak the FIT with a piggyback since it's using OBD2. But you don't need to do anything with just an performance Intake System upgrade. The ECU will compensate for it already.
Anyone Knows ??
Hello guys,
anyone has one of these airboxes that they are willing to sell, or if not, the hardware (screws and nuts) used to secure the top to the bottom to seal the filter in. Or if you know where the hardware is available for purchase online.
Thank You
Chris

No problems with the hot air even on a hot day. I also installed the scoop so I was getting cool air when the car is running.
Yup FusionR. Address is 1328 A E. Rodriguez Ave., QC. It's near Balete Drive.
thanks for the info bro!
can i also get lowering springs for my jazz in the same store? wat brand do u recommend cos im thinkin of getting just the lowering springs not the whole kit.
by the way i have a 2004 jazz idsi 1.4 A/t is dat a GD1?

Hi, I recently purchased a 2006 Civic Si, and have a 1993 Civic si with a B 16 swap. I have been at it Honda wise since my first Si 1990. had it till last year 360K miles.
My wife picked up a red Fit Sport last weekend. She says enough of the 2 door cars I always get. She is taking car of my daughter's ne baby Girl.
She is a Tuner also, and she wants to get Eibach Lowering springs.
Does anyone know if they have them yet?
Her other car is a 1999 Civic si with Ground Controls, Skunk 2 exhaust and DC Sports header and AEM Cold Air.
15.2 in the quarter with her 2nd son driving.
The Fit is a Blast. Reminds me of the first Civic Sport 1500s. I was dumb and buying Toyota Corollas then.
There is no comparison.
Anyway,
I want to tell you that I have never purchased a custom Air Filtering system that didn't improve Power and Torque on a Honda.
I believe that this is because of the superior sensors for the Fuel injection and emmission controls.
It sees more Air and adjusts fuel delivery accordingly.
That is my two cents for now.
This car, the FIT, is the neatest thing going. It is a blast.
can't wait to do just a little tuning,,,, Cold Air, like the K&N, and suspension settings to lower the car 1.5 inches.
Good luck to all you Fit Humans out there.

I can't say for the others but I like the ride of my H&R springs.
Yes that's GD1.
I don't know what you mean but if you're saying that it will fit your car, check where it was manufactured. I think you can do that by checking the VIN online. If your car came from Thailand or Japan, it should be ok.
I'm not sure if this is true but I've heard that by using a filter like the one from K&N will VOID your warranty here in the USA. Due to the fact the oil (applied to the filter)might damage the sensors or something.
I am not sure about this,
I have had a number of Hondas, New, 1990, 1993, 1999, 2003, Acura RSX, and now 2006 Civic Si, and 2007 Honda Fit.
The second thing I do to them is usually the Air Box.
The First thing that happens to all of them is Ground Control, Coinovers, or Eibach Lowering Springs.
The 2006 Si already has lowering springs and it is 2 Months old. made it handle even better, Ride is exactly the same. Lower by 1.2 inches max.
As for the Airbox,, The Mass air sensor could be affected, but you are not supposed to run the car with a wet filter. The Oil does dry somewhat, plus new filters from K and N are coming through with elements that do not require Oil.
Personally, I may NOT do an Air Filter on the 2006 Si, However I will keep what you said in Mind.
You have to realize that Honda afficianados, like me, that do these things to their cars are actually your best form of advertisement.
I can tell you this for a fact, We tuner types, sell more cars word of mouth that you can imagine.
Case in Point.
I was in Rochester NY for 6 years, 1998 to 2003, and was the only Honda in the Verizon Engineering Parking Lot.
I have recently returned and now the lot is filled with Hondas, and believe me when someone sees a 1993 Civic Si, Traveling from Ohio Reliably, every week with over 250,000 miles on it, (Now has 310,000), going to Car shows in the area, they ask questions and that is when I tell them why Honda is the best decision on a car they could ever make, and why.
Some people here now have converted WHOLE Families from Domestic to Honda, which I tell them, may be more domestic that what they have been buying. I have a couple of examples where 5 people in one family crossed over.
So for Honda to nit pick at me for a K& N filter that increases Torque and HP and actually in some cases makes the milage better, because there is a 5% chance they may have to replace an Air Mass sensor, would be stupid on their part.
Another Case in Point, 2003 Acura RSX Type S. Put an Injen Cold Air system in this car, was getting no more that 28-30 MPG with it, as advertised, Added the Injen Filtering system, Noticed a definate increase in Torque. Took it on a trip to N Carolina, loaded to the gills in Summer running the Air, with my wife, at 75 mph, and never got less than 35 MPG.
So I say, be resonable. Black and white is for the Chevy dealers. Don't pollute Honda with your American ways that squeeze the Consumer for all you can get.
It will bite you in the Butt.

Yea, hehe...I have always put a K&N filter in almost every car I have ever owned. It just freaked me out to here a bunch of cases where the oil/refill from/for the filters had messed up the MAF/MAS. Since then, I've looked towards other brands
like HKS and AEM, etc.
I have yet to find a manufactuer that actually has told the
"truth" tho. I have never got better gas mileage. Only worse. And I even drove my cars slower than normal and on the freeway. Which brings up this...I haven't really seen any magazine do a real life report thats unbiased and
not tainted. Maybe its because almost every car magazine
has a K&N Ad in it. If they were to prove that you got worse gas mileage and that u got suckered into their
"save gas" Ad campaigne, you wouldn't buy their products anymore and magazines and what not would lose
millions of dollars in advertisement fees. *Sigh*
I guess I say state things how I see it and I'm pretty
sure I'm not the only one that feels the same way.
But hell, it's almost irrelavent nowadays...
and I'd rather not get into a much more complexed
debate. But at any rate and as I was saying...Dry cone filters are the way to go. Buy filters that don't sell after market junk where u have to buy a $15 bottle of spray
that will VOID your warranty. If you must tho, I've heard from a lot of people that some DAWN dishwashing liquid and some warm water will work even better and will cost you next to NOTHING. (just make sure to rinse it out well and let it dry properly). I've actually tried this and it works GREAT! The filter was perfectly dry. (Had to let it sit out in 90 degree wether for like 2-3 days, though.)
like HKS and AEM, etc.

Also sometimes we may think an intake mod gives us more power but its just a placebo effect since the intake now is louder than the stock airbox.

true story. A lot of the times the car that is getting dyno has an open hood with tones of cold air blowing into
the engine bay.
Dynos graphs are GREAT for marketing
In the real world...thats an entirely different story.
With that said, I think my other post in the other thread makes a whole lot of sense.
a lot of sense."dyno proven"...bleh...
and I agree with the "placebo" effect. but hey...nothing seems to work
better than the BUTT Dyno. lol
ask any owner of a custom modified car, and they'll confirm it.
Hi again,
My experience is first with a drop in Kand N in a New 1990 Civic Si.
made the car .2 tenths faster at the Strip, One run after the other, different filters within 45 minutes of one another, repeatable.
Drive the car to Rochester NY every Monday, then back home to Ohio, 300 miles, 1998-1999.
Car got 35mpg with Honda Filter, and 37mpg with Kand N drop in.
Now remember this is not OBDII. OBDII is less responsive to changes made to intake and Exhaust.
later added Cold Air AEM, and car Ran into the 15's for the first time.
before ran 16;10's Milage stayed the same.
Car was recently sold with over 350,000 miles on it Original mass air sensor.
Ran for at least 300,000 miles on a K and N wet Filter.
Another case was the 1993 Civic Si, still have it, B-16 Swap with over 200,000 miles on it, 310 Total, counting D16 single cam.
This car was getting 32 miles per gallon Highway,, had Apexi Vtech Fuel controler, configured for B-16A, and could see absolute throttle percentage at 70 mph.
With AEM and K&N Cold Air, Throttle position was less at 70 mph and got over 35mpg consistantly,
Still have this car and Zero Problems with Air Mass sensor. By the way, it runs 14:60's on 14" sreeet Radials, no limited slip.
maybe it's the water in California,,,Ha ha.
Nice conversing with you.
These are my experiences.

Thanks,
The guy from Honda in California, kind of blew my mind. It's OK to note that a wet K&N may cause a problem, but to threaten a voiding of warranty over a Filter made by a reputable firm, is overkill.
Heck there are a ton of things a tuner could do to void a warranty.
I thought California was were the birth of Tunerism got
started???
I have had really good luck with their filters. To flow more Air and have it cleanable is a really good deal.
The Ingen Filter on the RSX Type S is the only non AEM/K&N that I have and if they made one for the Fit it would be something to consider.
Thanks again

Send me your VIN, I'll check it out for you. Email is ken_ilano@hotmail.com. But you know what? If I were you, I would wait for a K&N kit made specifically for the US Fit.
My ride is lower by 1.25 inches without any passengers.
I got my HKS muffler from a different guy. The price was Php 27,000 brand new.
Guys, regarding the warranty, check this link out: http://www.knfilters.com/facts.htm#VWNTY
