i have some x-ray equipment at my shop but its too big to put inside the ports to test thickness. plus i really dont want to tear off my head just to see how thick the ports are. maybe i can track down a wrecked fit and get that head and test on it.

im talking about the bowl or the are behind the valve...not the combustion chamber....
dont need xray equipment can use sonic measuring tools....just is tedious and time consuming mapping the ports out using one...

Wow, this is starting to get intense!

I'm just looking at seeing what the L15A will take without changing any of the internals. My guess is 10psi will be a good number that should keep things safe. Since Kraftwerks has had JDMChris' car at 10 and 12 psi for some time now, and Skunk2 had theirs at 15 on the track I don't forsee any other problems with our motor at 10.

I think my limiting factors will be my stock fuel pump and the 310ccc injectors this Friday when I attempt to go towards the 10psi mark. I think I may hold it back to 8-9 depending on how much power we make during the dyno tune...

I can't wait tho... I just installed my boost controller and oil catch can today so I'm all good to go!

10psi will be the limit on the stock ecu anyway (stock map sensor only does .8 bar above atmospheric pressure)....anything making real power will be on stand alone ecu...the shop cars i tuned had motec or fuel air spark (aka FAST) engine management systems...a few of the high powered cars had hondata but i have never been impressed with hondata...

hondata does nothing for the fits. not too compatable. there is a guy up here building a l15 with a sc and he will drop it in his fit come this spring so i will see if i can get my hands on his old l15 to run tests on. opening the head will help everyone. im currently talking with a company to see about making cams for us.

rocket motor sports can build a cam to any spec you want it...he specializes in custom cams...if hondata does a reflash then it wouldnt be very hard for them to release a full system...im just guessing they wont waste their time with the L15...and anyone with a fit using it for competition is going to drop a k into it anyway...

Could someone just replace the stock map sensor with one out from a K20? Or would it not fit...

PM sent. Thanks for the tip on the sensor.

I'll call my friend who works in the parts department at Acura and find out if that sensor will fit.

So if I don't exceed 9-10psi does that mean I won't need to replace my stock map sensor?

i have a hondata 4 bar map sensor. i havent put it in because the values of the a/f pressure need to be corrected in order to run a different map sensor which is damn near impossible unless you get someone to reflash your ecu. different map sensors may look like they are plug and play but its a good way to blow your engine.

I think 10PSI is a practical limit that could be handled by the piggyback systems and this turbo. Not too much over that and that and the turbo is out of its efficiency range.

I want to ride in a 10PSI Fit! I'm sure an LSD would be needed with that kind of power but it would sure be fun to really shock some people in traffic.

"Did I get passed by that little box?"

On the topic of stand alone setups, Has anyone looked into a rom-tune?
I wonder if RS Enthalpy would attempt a tune if it is possible with the FIT.

Whats the news? I was adjusting my boost last sat, i hit 12 psi on accident. I'm running about 9.5-10 psi. AFR seems right on the dot on full throttle. That's probably highest I'll go for daily.

I'm going in this Friday to get tuned to 9-10psi. I'll get some numbers down and hopefully it goes well... fingers crossed!

I wonder why some of you guys got "fake" parts.. is there such a thing as a fake garrett turbo?

I know FELIX69 said he had a fake wastegate, but he bought his kit used from another member who had the prototype kit and emanage blue...

None of my parts are fake, well, except the BOV is a Type-RS which is a knock off BOV, but that is what AJ-R stated the kit came with... I've since replaced mine with the new HKS SSQV BOV

I've had a turbo shop look over my turbo about a month ago, mine is a real garrett t25.

I know the guys at RCTS will do a wicked tuning job, I guess I'll just have to see where it takes me tho..

GD3kamiwanaB is making 174whp @ 9-10psi... I should be in the same area since the setups are fairly similar. But I'm praying to the horsepower gods to bless me with 10-20whp more

I've had a turbo shop look over my turbo about a month ago, mine is a real garrett t25.

maybe it is a real one. but i went into a shop that stocks and sells garrett turbos, and asked them to see a garret T25 .48AR turbo and what he brought out to show me didnt look like my turbo. things that were different were

1.honeywell badge and serial number from manufacturer
2.the word GARRETT in the casting of the turbo housing

and a few other small things.

the BIG kicker tho, was when i bought a male -10 AN fitting for the turbo drain spout, specifically made for a T25 turbo, it didnt fit. the holes on the turbo were about an 1/8th inch off. i dont know. i could be wrong. i know aj/t1r are very goody guys and i trust them. but this is what i have observed.

The first Turbo I had was different than the second one. It has a GARRETT stamp on the Turbo snail(3d). I'm sure this one is real, not all Garrett turbo's look the same.

Edit: My Tial wastegate looks like a knockoff. Every picture I've seen so far of a Tial Wastegate has a stamp on top where mine is just all chrome.

My turbo has GARRETT written on it, and my wastegate has the Tial part written on the cast part. No writing on the top tho. I went to a local shop and they had a bunch of wastegates, all of them were Tial, only some had the stamp on top.
