That's good to know. But here is a fake comparison off the Tial site. I'll have to look at my wastegate again.

Damn it! Just got a call from RCTS (the guys who are tuning my car) and the owner Reg Reimer isn't going to be available to tune my car this Friday since he'll be at the SEMA show... I'm so PO'd...

The next available date is the 13th. So I'm penciled in for that day now, even tho it totally sucks ballz.

The Taiwan knock off is chromed vs polished real one. Haha, sorry making it confusing for everyone.

That sucks YeeFit! But SEMA is a very big show. Good luck on your tune!

It looks real to me

I was also seeing the knock offs were looking like the Tial Stamp was carved out and not as good as ours. The casting inside the letters match the casting outside.

Do you have an electric boost controller? What connected to the top of your wastegate?

I installed my manual boost controller, and in the instructions it said to leave the top port on the wastegate open and only hook up the controller into the side port.. the top is to vent to atmosphere.

I think electric boost controllers mount to the top right?

I have a Greddy Profec 2 Electronic boost controller and yes, it uses the top of the wastegate and the side.

Ahhh cool cool... Hey do you have any issues with overheating running 9-10psi?

Ben mentioned that his car was experiencing overheating issues on the dyno at 9psi.

No problem yet. Of course I don't punch it all the time either. I don't have a temp gauge as of yet. No red lights came on either. Normally I drive hits about 6psi and its time for shift. I floored it on the highway yesterday, catching up to a Civic SI who was going pretty fast, I assume he was at 100mph cuz its right after the ramp I take and he was 3 cars ahead. I can drive it daily as long as I don't always use the heavy foot(which I'm watching now since the power boost, but still feels great).

So, we've determined the wastegate is real. My BOV seems to need replacing. It's a damn VACUUM LEAK!

Thats right, at idle, with the piston closed, I can feel it sucking air into the seal around the little shaft inside. Definitely not sucking into the intake pipe, it's sucking around the piston shaft.

I wanna get one of those synchronic BOV's... piston operated, and they look really cool!

oh, and YeeFit, this one's for you:

Yah, trust me, i'm peaved.... but atleast I know that the guy who is going to tune my car is really good at what he does. 9 days to go, so its a little set back, but not the end of the world.

I did replace my BOV... I got the HKS SSQV. Pretty nice IMO. I got it off ebay for 140US new, and its the Ver.II one that was released last year. The syncronic ones are nice, but $$$

Oh, I got that HKS BOV on a wishlist from my bro lol. Hope I get it. I just wanted it because of the sound. The synchronic one is nice, but I didn't like the sound too well.

Ya, the sound is pretty distinct... a sharp chirp almost.. You have to get the 30mm adapter flange tho... I got mine off ebay for 30 bucks.. you need it for the HKS flange.

I think once I get my dyno tuning done I'll take some external vids so ppl can hear what it sounds like when the storms coming!!!

Haha, yea I know I'll need the Perrin flange, that's not expensive. I just want you to know what I got when I shift! Right now, if I floor it, switch gears, you can't hear the bov.

Yikes! no BOV at all?

It was pretty wet outside tonight... I took my car out for a little rip.. filled up the tank with 94 octane gas and turned the boost up a little.. my boost gauge reads a full 6psi now.. before I wasn't able to get the needle above 5. My emanage read that I did hit a peak of 5.7 before, so I think I should be around 6.5psi - 7psi.

It feels strong tho.. its cool out too, just above freezing..

I definitely need to get my new engine mounts installed and order up the exedy stage II clutch.

Can't wait til the 13th... 2-3 more psi and a proper tune should be insane..

we've later determined that the kit that was sold to the last owner was a pre production kit so mine came with a fake one.
mine doesn't say tial on it...

felixy, why have you not done any dyno testing? i just think that not caring about numbers is kinda silly, it would be a big help to the fit community, especially a/t guys.
