Floor Mats, questions, answers, recomendations
I agree with Karl- you don't need to go to the trouble and expense of the hooks. However, I have the same mats, and I am a litlle bothered by the way that they move around. The fix is easy, and less costly than buying and installing hooks. I used woven rubber non-slip shelf liner available in rolls at very low price in the kitchen dept. of KMART.
I cut the non-slip liner to match the underside of the mat about 1" inside the mat borders. Then I sprayed the mat underside with 3M 77 aerosol contact adhesive avail. from Ace Hardware. While the adhesive was still tacky, I placed the non-slip rubber liner on it and smoothed it down. Now the mats weigh a little more and they don't slip.

Thanks for the info. I thought the hooks might be overkill, and that the mats might settle down once they've been in for a while, but the sliding driver's front mat was worrying me. I use that non-slip liner in the trunk to stop stuff sliding around, but I didn't want to add thickness to the floor mats. I saw a suggestion for Velcro - maybe I'll try that.
I just wish they'd told me I'd have holes in my mats...

Good lookin' out, pmabke. I found the exact mats you described at my local Target, though they were $19.99.
I needed something quick, tough, and reasonably acceptable in the esthetics department, and these really fit the bill. Wouldn't have thought to try them without your recommendation, and I couldn't be happier.

Some Hooks installed
The dealer I went to wanted $150 for the mats, so I said no thanks. I initially planned to get aftermarket mats but in time decided to treat myself to the OEM ones - mostly for look - through College Hills Honda at half the price. Here's a quick review for those who don't want to wade through all the old posts:
The OEM ones have highly irregular shapes, each one different, even in back. However, you can either get ones to cut to size, or just get small ones of ordinary shape - they'll probably do fine, even if they are rectangular and leave some less-central areas uncovered. People probably won't put their feet there anyway.
Mine had the hooks installed in front but not back. Generally I think that will be OK; the driver's one is the one that would otherwise probably move a lot. If the ones in back slide around, I'd probably use the nonslip drawer liner on the underside rather than install more hooks. I hate the idea of cutting into the interior of a new car!
The OEM mats look nice but they strike me as the opposite of hefty, durable and high quality. Were it not for the origami shaped-footprint, the hooks & grommets, and the Fit logo, they wouldn't be worth it, and would not sell for more than $10 for a set of 4 in Advance Auto Parts. As it is I'd say only a Fit Freak should buy them at $70+. Better options are available for less locally.

OK, thought I'd check in again - I found out what the Honda part numbers were for the front hooks (83605-SDA-A02), and ordered four of them from Majestic Honda. Parts cost me 5 bucks, plus S&H. Installation was a breeze, and the mats don't move at all anymore.
I didn't like the hooks with the OEM rubber mats for the front seats. The hooks themselves seemed to get deformed and detach themselves from the floor and so the mats ended up sliding for me anyway.
Thanks for the Rubbertite recommendation, I think I'm going to go with that. Just curious though, I'm at AJUSA.com's website now and I'm seeing a one-piece Rubbertite mat for the backseat? It says "Standard Deck Mat behind second seat." Or is this a universal fit type that might not fit so well?

I was surprised when I took delivery of my carpeted floormats to find all the extra hooks and fasteners. I thought, "What the heck is all this for... I thought these were just floormats!" When I saw that I had to cut the carpet to put them in, I said F that, and just put them in without the extra stuff. Haven't had any problems, but then again, I've only had them in the car for two days.
The quality of the floormats is pretty weak, though. Definitely a step down from the ones I had in my Civics, Accords, and Imprezas.
Bernardi FTW, by the way.

I just installed the Honda all-weather mats (front and back) and the cargo tray. I didn't bother using the hooks although I did keep them in case they move around.
I thought the quality was actually very good and the way they are cut, they are a PERFECT fit for the car. They are MUCH better than the generic mats I bought and tried to cut to size. I'll see if they slide around, but honestly, I can't see it being an issue. If it is, I'll add the hooks. They do look great though
Forgot to add, I ordered everything online from Majestic Honda and cost was under $200 Canadian all-in. The stuff arrived in a couple of weeks with no problems at all.

clips or not to clip floor mat ?
I read these comments... I use clips for my mats in the front but not the rear. fortunatly I know the difference of the two. Long story made short. I had a fit that got totaled so I kept the mats. In the new fit I did not have clips. On the drivers front it moved alot. So I went out and paid an arm and a leg for new clips.
I dont know why a person would not use the clip particularly if it is a manual transmision. the mat may slide under the clutch.
So at this time the front all weather mats are secured with clips and the rear are not. I seldom have pasengers in the back.

Has anyone been able to find a place that sells JUST the clips for the all weather mats? Just took mine to the carwash and the idiots there broke both the driver's side front ones. Obviously i will make them pay for the new clips, but still seems dumb to have to buy an entire new set of mats just for two plastic clips.

Target's Rubbermaid #5036 is not bad at all. A little trimming will make for a pretty decent Fit. I'm happy with them. I just need to put something underneath to prevent it from moving. The vinyl pad built-in to the OEM carpet doesn't do much for keeping the mat in place.

Does anyone have a picture of the OEM floor mats installed? I would like to see a picture of the OEM carpet mats and the OEM all weather mats before I order.
