Floor Mats, questions, answers, recomendations
Me too, thanks! I'm already looking for ways to spruce up my Fit, as I really love her.
Got window decals and license plate frames, so floor mats were next. Now I gotta figure out what else I can do to her.

floor mats
i travel for work and get in and out of the car prob 12 times a day or more and i noticed cheap rubber floor mats would disintegrate rapidly even switching the passenger side over prob a year at most then more expensive mats maybe 2-3 years so i just spent the money and bought the weathertech hoping its an investment hopefully the only winter mats i will ever need on this fit
Greetings everyone, Picked up my 2010 Taffeta White Fit Sport tonight from the dealer. As I'm sure everyone knows, they ask a fortune for the OEM mats. I'm interested in custom fit mats, and prefer all weather over carpet. I know this might have been talked about at length already, but who really wants to sort through 280 replies, and a lot of the links, prices etc are very very dated.
I'm looking for the best all weather mats for the buck. What do you have and where did you get them.
2nd: I'm not sure this exists at all but... I will have the back seats down most of the time. I've got lab that goes just about everywhere I do. I'm looking for a cargo liner, cloth or rubberized, that covers the entire cargo area with the seats down. Is there such a thing?
Thanks for your help, and I cant' wait to go out tomorrow and just drive around this new baby.
Sean

your answer is weathertech floor mats... they're amazing... as for the rear, you shoul search ruber floor protector in hardware stores i.e. home depot... and then trim it to your needs... i'm pretty sure it does'nt exist for the wholr rear area... just the trunk
Here's what I did:
$12 set of floor mats from the discount store. Cut out around the dead pedal, which doesn't quite go all the way to the floor (in other words, there's a tiny gap at the bottom of the dead pedal).
Wedged the mat a bit under the dead pedal. Then used carpet tape under the carpet in a few places to keep it from sliding around. It's not a perfect solution since the mats don't fit perfectly and they have spikes on the bottom so the tape doesn't adhere perfectly.
BUT- the driver's side mat isn't sliding around and it looks okay (the mats are black which match the interior).
For the hatch I took a big piece of left-over carpeting and cut it roughly to size including folded-down rear seats. Mostly my seats are up so I just doubled-over the carpet. Doesn't look wonderful but who's looking into my hatch? (especially since I have a cargo cover).

Does anyone how well 09-11 mats will fit an 08? I was thinking about buying these.

i've searched all over the web (including a specific search of this very thread) and can't find the solution to my problem anywhere...
i have an '08 fit and have purchased the oem all season mats from bernardi parts. their website provides a download link for installation instructions, and in those instructions it mentions a template for the rear mats. i can't, for the life of me, find a download link for that template! my mats didn't come with any paper whatsoever, instructions or template. i just got the mats and mounting hardware.
after reading this thread, it seems most people don't even bother with the hooks/mounts in the rear. i'd really like to use them because my dog is in and out of the back seat all the time, and he always scoots my mats (currently using a generic store brand) across the floor as he's coming and going.
so, does anyone still have this template? and if so, could you do me the biggest favor in the history of favors and scan a copy of it? pretty please?!
seriously, i've given up hope of finding this template anywhere online. :/

said to hell with the template and just eye-balled it. turned out just fine!
i have to say though, i'm underwhelmed with the front mats. the rears cover just about every inch of floor space (minus the center hump of course). the fronts, especially the driver's side, leave too much carpet exposed. there's basically nothing underneath the gas pedal, and i get that's partially for safety and all, but that's where my foot is most of the time, so come winter all kinds of nasty, salty water is going to drip off my foot and start eating through the cheap "burlap sack-ish" carpet in no time!
i went OEM because i wanted a good fit (that play on words never gets old with this vehicle
), but i think i'm going to have to ask for the weathertech's for christmas. their front mats look like they cover much more floor space, and their rear mat is one solid piece that even covers the center hump. i just couldn't justify the cost for 'em right now, though. trying to save for a decent set of seat covers too.

I love this....might have to steal it.
