Guys,
Thanks so much for the feedback, this is EXACTLY the kind of info I needed. I guess I am now leaning towards saving up for the JDM one, Kris, I'll love to hear what you think once you have it and have installed it!
Thanks again guys, BIG help!

Here is an update. www.jdmland.com says that there is no "non-adjustable" armrest. (I did not ask why they would sell the console without it) Whatever, anyway they are back-ordered and will not have them for several weeks.

And I was just about to order one, too! Glad I decided to read the rest of the posts!!
Backordered-Console?? Armrest?? or both?? At any rate, I'm back to square one, still waiting for College Hill Honda, and now jdmland; unless AJ-Racing can come through!!

Unhappy Armrest Console from College Hills Honda doesn't fit AT

Hi Everyone,

I bought my Armrest Console from College Hills Honda a few months back. I got in on their first order before they sold out. It took me a while to get to installing it. My wife had a baby in January, so I didn't have time to install it until today.

Guess what? It doesn't fit my Automatic Transmission Base model Fit. It fits everywhere except over the Automatic Transmission Gear Shifter selector. You know the silver plastic Dome where you choose what gear you want. I even took off that silver selector piece and tried holding it up/puting it on to the JDM/Aussie console and it doesn't fit. The hole on the console is the wrong shape. It is too small of an opening. I checked the College Hills Honda Site and watched the video install they did and they placed in on a AT model. That is strange, why did it fit for them but not me. I think I might of read on the Forum that Maybe College Hills Honda tried it out using a JDM model, but ordered Aussie models when they ordered them in bulk. Maybe there is a difference if that story is true.

Just wanted to know if I was the only poor sole out there that bought a ArmRest Console to place on my "Base" model, no cool go fast plastic, Automatic. Okay, okay... it's my wife's Baby Moblie.

I think everyone has a Manual Transmission so your shifter boot fits this console just fine.

Yes, I even tried it a few hours later and still it won't fit.
No, it is not for sale at this moment.

Looks like Sport has a smaller size shifter base than the base Fit.

Did it say that it was for sport only? Did you tell them you needed a base one?

Either way, try to get your money back.

Thanks for the comment WhatFreshHell. You got me thinking. I looked up on-line in the Honda Parts Catalogue for the Shifter Selector and here is what I found out. Even though the Parts Catalogue uses the exact same parts illustration for both models, the part number for the Base Model AT is different than the part number for the Sports Model AT. Even though they look-a-like, having a different part number means they are different in some way.
I am wondering if I could just switch Shifter Selectors plates cause they both appear to mount in the same location. It snaps on and off... as each corner is just a plastic corner clip. I think I will try to get my hands on a Sports AT Shifter Selector from the dealer and see if it fits. Maybe it is worth the effort.

I will call College Hills Honda in the Morning and let them know what happened.

Hollywood,
Thanks for the heads up! I have the Sport AT, when I get my armrest, I'll be sure to order carefully and get ONLY the Sports model part. Sorry about the problems w/ it not fitting your base model... I agree with the others, I'd try to get them to switch it out for the other part #.

I called College Hills Honda today and told them that the Imported Armrest Console they sold didn't fit the Base Model AT Fit. They were surprised. They didn't know. They can only order it in one version. They had tested it out on a Sports Model AT and it fit just fine. They told me that their dealership is medium sized, and they have gotten in only about 2 Base model FITS to sell. All the Fits that come to them from Honda are Sports Models. They didn't know the Shifter Selector Console (round silver domed plate) on the Sport and Base models were different sizes.

I ordered the Selector Console for the Sports Model and I am going to try jsut switch them. I will also have to see if I can switch the "P-R-N-D-S" plate of the Sports model with the P-R-N-D-D3-2-1. I will let you know if the Mod works.

You will have to cut something, or else you probably wont get P and 1 anymore.

Looking for a pic of the Zeta non-folding armrest installed

I'm trying to determine which armrest to get, the folding or non folding model. I really like the non-folding model, but I'm not sure if it will stick out far enough. Does anyone have a pic of the n/f one installed so I can see how far it sticks out?

Thanks

well it's the same distance that sticks forward then the folding one (because i have had both of them and i prefer the non-folding one) so here is a side shot of the folding one.

Yes. Pop the old ones off and clean the place to put the badge with alcohol...Let that dry. Take off the posts on the badge and the backing and stick on the car! Simple as can be.
