Armrest, questions, answers, comparisions photos
On 07 US models according to the parts list at College Hills Honda, standard equipment part number for base model Manual Transmission and Sport Model AT & MT is the same. part number for base Automatic transmission is different. Apparently Automatic transmission shifter of base model has different bezel than sport model.
Thats explains it... nice nice
Hum that's what I thought cause I've seen a sport and LX console in person and it was exactly the same and the interior is identical aside from the seat color. My dash and doors are exactly the same as the sport model (well except for the tweeters)
I'll ask in the Canadian forums but I thought someone might be able to answer the question in this thread since there is so much good info about the armrest in here.

Here is a link to an earlier post in this thread where someone tried to use the JDM armrest with a non-Sport A/T. As you can see from the pic, it doesn't fit due to the extra Drive settings on the shifter. Previous posts in this thread show the JDM console works fine with M/T, both Base and Sport, along with the Sport A/T due to their slightly smaller shifter cutout. Also, an earlier poster said the lack of an Accessory jack/connector on his Base fit was not an issue, as he simply didn't hook it up and it still looks great.
Good luck - I have a JDM console in my Sport A/T and love it.

Nice. Yeah mt's are all the same, base or sport. Tell me how you like it... i'm thinking about getting one.
Thats where i was gona get it
japanparts.com some folks on here have ordered some from them and they said service was excellent.
They have already emailed saying they received my order and then another email saying they had the parts in stock and delivery date is estimated at feb 5th.
They said they would email the tracking number as soon as it was available.
They are also the only place that offers different color armrests all oem honda depending on your interir color. Mine will be grey.
send me a pm if you want the part numbers.
Total CAD is 371.00$ including the surcharge/brokerage fees when it reaches Canada.
I tried AJ Racing before and they only have the all black one for the Sport with the black armrest.

hmm. thansk for the excellent info! i was thinkin about japanparts but i figured with the dollar being as weak as it is right now that the exchange rate would bump it up to over 4 bills. i guess i'll inquire about aj's price w/shipping to cali and then dump cash on the better deal. freakin stupid dumb US economy...
btw; who's the guy that everyone mentions to talk to at aj's? is it ben or something?

So for all the people wondering if the console will fit in the "5spd base model" here are some pictures.
Mine is an LX model which is the middle model in Canada. I have the aux plug and power outlet so this is a straight swap part. My car also has grey interior fabric which I am guessing is the same in the base US Fit.

cheers!

Where to buy Armrest Console
Here are some links where you can buy the Armrest Console.
The first one I think is from overseas.
But the second link is some honda dealer in ohio or something like that.
A&J Racing :: JDM Honda Parts :: Fit/Jazz (GD3/4)
-You might have better luck getting your hands on one here.
2007-2008 Honda Fit Imported Accessories
They're currently sold out. But if you sign up with their e-mail system it'll let ya know when they're getting another shipment. When you do get the notification order ASAP b/c they go like hot cakes...It took about 2 or 3 months before they notified me and I ordered the next day.
If it helps any I think they get them imported from Austraila.
Here's a link where they show you how to install the armrest console.

Official Honda armrest, arrived and installed on Friday. I waivered between this and Zetaproducts Honda Fit Folding Armrest - FIT-F but decided that I prefered the look of the whole console. I made the decision before my Zeta Honda Fit Driver's Dead Pedal - FIT-DP arrived, and if I had waited and seen the quality of the dead pedal I might have made a different decision, as I have nothing but positive feedback about Zeta and thier product(s).
On to this product. Installation was a breeze, about 20 minutes total requiring only a flathead and a phillips head screwdriver. Quality is excellent and fitament is perfect as is to be expected from the factory. The look is very clean, although a bit boxier than it appears in the pictures. I do have a few issues with functionality however.
When extended the armrest makes using the hand brake awkward, it is not impossible, but difficult. Shifting, and accessing the shifter is not an issue though, at least not for me with my arm length. The width of the base of the armrest is a bit too much in my opinion, crowding the drivers seat, and making putting on/taking off a seatbelt while wearing a coat more complicated than it should be. The cupholders up front are a bit too small as well, barely holding a 20 oz soda. They will not accomodate a 1 liter bottle, most large cups from fast food restaurants, or travel mugs with wide bases.
Japanparts was fairly good to work with. Delivery took about a week. Contact with the company was limited and conducted entirely through e-mail, with no link on the website to check on status of the order, payment, or shipping information. Inquiry by e-mail was answered promptly and in a friendly manner however. I was not a fan of the paypal setup they use, which required you to use the send money feature on paypal with an estimation number attached, as opposed to a simple on site checkout.
Overall I am not wowed by the product for the price (around $350 total with shipping). I am not entirely dissatisfied, it does provided good arm support, and has a classy look. I feel there are probably better products out there for less money though.
::Edited to fix first link::
::Second edit I forgot to mention it was shipped without instructions on installation. Installation is not difficult, but this online manual Center Console Removal/Installation was helpful and probably saved me a few minutes finding the screwdown points etc.::

I was wondering if anyone had ordered the one from Quality Auto Interiors? It costs about 150 and has a extendable top.

Here's another source. They provide installation instructions in video as well as pdf format. They are currently out of stock, but I'd visit them for installation info on other things, or just for the entertainment value. They do a lot of things in video.
