so this morning while motoring to work in my FitS, i saw a lady driving in front of me who was wiping the inside glass on her new accord at almost every stop light. lol
for those that don't know, if your inside window fog up change the airconditioner setting to 'fresh air.' otherwise, even with the a/c running your inner glass can fog up.
wanted to stop the car and tell the lady but oh wellz.
hahaha. most new cars come from the factory in the 'recirculate' mode to minimize seabreeze and dust from getting inside the car.
now if your outside glass fogs up, your hvac temp is too low.
turn it up a few notches towards heat.

here's a couple of snap i took this am... i have no camera talent so it's over exposed but you get the picture.

pretty good for stock height... actually for my motoring, perfect. i go
through some rougher roads at times. car takes the bumps like a champ.

i like this angle.

19x10 rear with 275/35/19 RE050A

check out these 4 piston akebono brakes.
these stop the car very nicely.
19x9 with 245/40/19 RE050A

Redline 7500rpm.

Interior looks loads better then the 350Z, i heard it feels way better too. I think that is one of the biggest upgrades from the previous Z. If you have a nice car, with a cheapy interior, it will really kill the "Nice Car" buzz you get
. My neighbor has a yellow 05 350Z. He loves the car to death, drives it on spirited drives on the weekends, sometimes to work. Babys the car to the max, and loves it to the max. Yesterday ran into him outside, he was washing the Z. Went over and talked to him for a bit, asked what he thought about the 370Z. Hes more then impressed, he then said he had almost bought a GTR last month
! But didnt pull the trigger because no dealers could work with him enough on mark up. He said hes thinking of just getting a 370Z instead, he mentioned it was lower, more powerful, wider, and lighter, plus a way better interior then the 350! Looks like i may have 370Z living next door!!

as you said, the 370Z is truely a bargain if you asked me.
only thing is if you want to 'live' with a family like me, you'll need a dd like the FitS.

so this weekend im planning on detailing the 09 FitS. plan of action is clay, Prima Amigo (glaze), Griot's PaintSealant.
then Prima Nero the interior plastic bits, Prima Clarity the interior glass... you can find Prima on amazon or www.detailersparadise.com
afterwards, i need to hardwire an LED to the centerconsole area...wife's been eyeing my LED where it lights up the cupholder area and wants the same.
going to use a generic blue LED i have (i think it was 3000mcd) and just tap one of the switched fuse.

Motoring my FitS tonight was enjoyable.
Car shows its power below 65F, dry, and no a/c running.
Now we are entering the FitS season for the next 8 months. Hahaha, something to look forward to.

So, with the cooler weather I was checking my tire's psi as 10F change = ~1psi change. Everything went well as usual, except I think my little Craftsman 120v air compressor is on its way out.
It started making werd noises and generated this electrical burning smell. Crap....need to get a new one again... With 4 cars I go through these like once every 2yrs.
hahahaha
Check your tire pressures.

think im going to stop by my local Acehardware and pickup a black&decker 120v air inflator. basically the same thing as my pos craftsman but it has better reviews on amazon.
critera for me is to be 120v and small. quieter the better but not too picky. the black&decker one having a short 120v cord is a plus for me cause i use an extension cord anyway in my garage.

So I stopped by the local Ace hardware to see if they had the Black&Decker ASI300 tire inflator.
One of the stores didn't have it but the other one did. I look at the price... Amazon has it for $47 or something. The local rip-off wanted $69.99. LOL!
. And Ace's online store sells it at $49.99. Plus, the box looked like it was sold and returned.
The f-'s going on here?! Hahahahahaha.
.
So yah, I'm ordering it through amazon. Free shipping too since wife's a prem. member.
Its one thing to mark up the price a couple of $ to keep their store going, but they make zero profit for trying to rip people like me off cause I just won't buy it at their store.

So today, after taking care of my usual chores and running errands, going to wash the 09 FitS and clay it real well. Then apply a quick coat of Griot's Paint Sealant.
Its pretty humid today so I may need to postpone till tomorrow as polymers take a long time to dry in damp weather. And I'm not about to yank out the G just to dry my sealant with my dehumidifier in the garage.

hi TOOL!
I go it done. pretty easy car to do. the hardest part was making the EZ Felt trim around the HU and factory bezel so there were no gaps. lol
i also included the SWI-PS interface so my steering wheel button works. not a bad stereo.
these picts are off my phone and underexposed...
here's with the factory HU out of the car. i use masking tape to minimize any scratches.
Doing a quick programming and test on the SWI interface...

Making sure the DVDR plays...

red push-button you see in the cubby is my e-brake bypass switch...

Finished the install.
notice the clean felt finish around the bezel. no gaps!

Another angle... looks factory finish.

the stock speakers aren't bad at all. on the Z there's only front speakers but it's got plenty of bass for my music. with the HU i can get a nice EQ setting. going to play with it more tonight/tomorrow.

This am its nice and cloudy (rained earlier) its kinda damp but perfect for claying and detailing out on the driveway cause very low levels of dust outside.
going to tackle the GE's detail first thing...
Watched casino royal in the Z last night. Forgot how the story went so was kinda fresh.
picture's not bad at all. Sounded pretty good too.
Here's what I used:
- Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD
- Scosche harness: NN04B & NAA2B
- SWI for Pioneer/Sony
- normally closed push switch

Just got done detailing the 09 FitS. Basically wash, clay (took 2hrs alone), sealant, interior windows, panels, vac, dressed the wheels/tires. Took only a tad over 3hrs total. No bad!
Car looks great. I like how shiny Griot's PaintSealant is because white definitely needs supershine inorder to make it look real nice.
I need to get a new bottle of the Paint Sealant.

went motoring this am in the Z to tune the EQ on the HU. the stock speakers are boomy and tinny and no mid. so i cut out some of the boominess from the mid-low and added quite a bit of mid, left the high freq flat. turned out nice.
it's not perfect but it's at the limit of the tweeter(and crossover point) and the HU's parametric EQ tunability.
if it's going to be nice tomorrow im going to wash my FitS today.
need to check weather channel. going to pull out the G after lunch.
hope you guys are having a good labor day holiday.

went motoring in my G this pm and QD'ed both the Z and G.
was too lazy to wash the FitS today since it's showing t-storms tomorrow. i think im going to motor my FitS tomorrow in different parts of the area to see if there are any more good roads WITHOUT contruction or pot holes.
hahaha.
i also want to wire up a LED in the cupholder area on the 09... was able to undo a few clips but could not pullout the panel with the 12v so i need to check the DIY's to findout how to remove that thing. it'd be a very easy mod if i can figure out how to remove that panel. hahaha.
