Raton, huh? Sounds good.
Hey thanks for that headsup on the bolt. With my cars exposed to salt it could be severely corroded too. Ill check that next time I'm doing the oil change. I have several easy-outs so can rely on that too if the bolt head breaks off. I've had that happen a few times... Not fun.
I have SK closed wrenches that can hold a nuthead even at 60% worn. Pretty nice tool. I don't have too many SK Tools stuff but they seem to be pretty good. I do a lot of ikea assembly so their hex head socket comes in very handy with my drill.
. Lol
Got about 2hrs sleep afterwards.
not 100% but feelin pretty good.

so i finally got my arse rolling and sanded down the pos DR21 wheels. took like 2hrs to do all 4 cause one of them was severely curbed from that accident i had back in Feb.
anyway they look pretty decent for now. at least it's smooth again in all areas. pitted areas were all sanded down to the aluminum. washed and drying. during the next break (next weekend?) will wipe it down with some rubbing alcohol and prime the lips. then paint them graphite.
i need to check if i have any primer left...
also QD'ed my G's wheels.

yet again i got off my lazy arse this am and painted the wheels.
here they are...
i quickly realized that the standard nozzles on those duplicolor rattle cans suck. not only do they drip on occasion, they are hard on the pointing finger. hahaha
i think im going to get me some of those trigger adapter thingies next time.
the primer i used had those fan type nozzles and those are kickarse... well, for a rattle can.

i checked the wheels this am and looks like everything is drying consistently. no wrinkles or anything.
this coming weekend im going to use some 1500 grit compond to flatten and bring out the shine, finishing up with some mild polish for the nice gloss.
then let it cure completely.

not much car action going on today... looking forward to the drive home.
i heard from some of the members here that there was some kind of JDM get together locally over the weekend which i was completely unaware of. oh wellz... wont have time for that in the coming months. last weekend was the only opportunity and i completely missed it.
i think im going to go check out the 370z's in the coming weeks to window shop. i think im pretty much set on the base model (6MT ofcourse) with Sport package. i dont want leather seats and any of the fancy crap that i will never use on my hobby car.
wish i could get the Bose stereo system without getting the touring package (includes leather seats).
down the road i might lower the car with either the nismo sus kit or some coilovers but that's about all i'll do on the car.

Gotz another 4 day weekend so going to work on the wheels. They're doing some road work in front of my house so might not pull out my G. Don't want crap on the tires. Lol.

Thanks, yah the wheels came in originally in that graphite/polished lip which was more appealing to me at the time than just the silver (or black) the real RPF1's came in so the reason I bought these instead...
But wear tear (and accident major rimmage) took a toll on the lip so fixed and painted it.
I think $199 each is a fair price on the RPF1's. I'm not too concerned about the weight cause even the DR21's aren't that heavy (nor my TR wheels I currently use) so really depends on what you want, I guess. RPF1's are a good choice.

As for today, I haven't even stepped outside yet.
. Hahahaha.
Was playing my bently of a digital piano this am, got tired, took a short nap which turned into a 3.5hr nap, missed lunch, etc.
Going to grab a bite with the wife and go pickup our kids from grandma's in my FitS later on.
I taught my older kid not to step on the doorsills while entering/exiting the car so its holding up well. Now my younger one is another story... Sigh. His leg is also about to touch the seatbacks too while riding along. Sigh x2.
. Hahahaha
After we clear this phase dad's going to look for a nice dd. Will be atleast another couple of yrs.

So I got to motor my G this am afterall.
Tires got concrete dustage so not too happy about that, but oh well. The drive was well worth it.
You guys are probably like tires they will get washed up in the rain, etc. Wats the big deal?
Not my G cause I don't drive it in the rain so don't wash it usually. Just QD, SprayOn CarWash, etc...getting the tires dirty is a task for me to clean.
Hahaha. I wash my G maybe twice a year before detailing.
Both my Fits are kinda lightly covered in concrete dust. Its going to rain a little today so it will make the car look very nasty. I know it. If it pours the cars will get a nice rinse, but usually light rain just makes it so much worse. I'm sure you guys out in socal know exactly what I'm talking about.

Took my family over to the festival tonight in my FitS. Kids loved the food and all the festivities, wife and I also had a good time, but the best part for me was the drive motoring to and from in my FitS.
. Hahaha!
Lately its like wife wants to go somewhere with our kids and I'm like "yah, let's go!". She's thinking I'm being a great dad where I'm just thinking about the drive. Shhhh! Don't tell the wife.

This am took my G out for a spin (nice and cool, nice drive), QD'ed afterwards. Saw another G slammed with a bodykit, huge 20x9.5 and 20x10.5's. Looked so frikken cheap like a ricor civic not sure what the kid was thinking. The G looks best mildly dropped with 19's imho.
In other news, went to the hardware store finally in my FitS. Was a good drive.
. Pickedup some steelwool, some other stuff for my dremel tool, etc.
Took some fine steelwool on my painted wheels to remove the looser particles and polished them up a bit afterwards using Griot's Polish3.
Lookin' pretty good.
will leave it as-is for a month, get some snows on there and seal them up with Prima WheelShield (aka Wheel Armor).
That's about all the car things I did today.

I see. Yah, probably best to see the sticker.
My buddy at work has been searching online for one and the car seems to be pretty reliable for the most part(?). I'm against subaru's made at the indy plant so kinda giving him crap. Hahaha
But the only dealer that has them in-stock is the worst dealership in the midwest. I should go check one out with him. He doesn't speak English real well so don't want him getting raped by the dealer. Lol
I sell/buy cars every year so kinda know most dealer's cheezy tactics.
