I'm 62 and this is my first Honda experience and I'm lovin' it. Thing I've noticed in this forum is the diversity of FIT owners, so let's all come clean.
Thru the years it's been two Cadillac's, Toyota Yaris, Chrysler Eagle Summit, Chevy Spectrum, Ford F150, Impala, Audi Fox, two VW's,Toyota Corolla, Riley Elf, Corvair. K_C_

Previously had Ford, Chrysler and Toyota products.
Previous experience with Honda was a 1500-watt generator
at the cottage that just ran and ran without issue.
I'm 27, and will be 28 in August.
My first car was supposed to be a VW Bug, late 60s... but there was something wrong with it, and my dad simply assumed it was that *I* couldn't drive a stick shift. Bah. When he handed it to my little brother to drive later, and he had problems too, then my dad realized it was a problem with the bug. By then he'd already gotten me an automatic, and my brother had started smoking in the Bug... so I didn't want it back after it was fixed.
The first car I drove, even though my dad's name was on the title, was a late 80s Honda Accord. I named her Edward after the red-headed hacker girl in Cowboy Bebop, and loved her until the day she was totaled, the insurance company low balled her value, and I learned how stupid my dad was to set the insurance deductible at $1000 for such a low value car.
Edward was replaced with a piece of dren Kia Sephia that I named Chiana. She was a lien sale at the dealership my dad works at, and we'd assumed she'd be better than Edward because she was a much newer car. We couldn't have been more wrong, she was a headache for the whole time I owned her. I traded that hunk of crap in to get River just under a month ago, and have been so happy to have a nice reliable car. <3

Ha - it's true then what they say about car dealers... congrats on getting your own Fit, only what did you get? The bug would have been the nuts - I had a 67 back in the day that was most likely my most favorite car, just because. Trust me though, no great loss and you now have a manual shift that's close to too much fun for all its practicality.

I see that you had a Rabbit... When I first read about the Fit in early spring of 2006 the description seemed so much like the Rabbits of the 80s that I knew immediately I had to have one..

Only previous car was as 1989 Camry Wagon. Yes, it was older than me.
Donated it when someone backed into the front and practically totalled it when I parked it in front of my house after I left for college.
