thats because younger people arn't over the "lancer evolution" and "fast and furious" stages of automotive ownership yet. hell i'm not even over it yetstill i bought my fit because i personally love how it looks. and like with most modern hondas if the go "fast and furious" side of me ever has the urge to get out...our fits still have K20A potential. which makes me smile from ear to ear. oh. i'm 23 by the way.

I guess you could say it was your first car that you owned. I owned my BMW. Got it for a steal from this older guy and it was amazingly fun. The jeep was a loaner from my dad so it wasn't technically mine. But the Fit is mine, I bought it as a graduation present from high school to myself.

I'll be 62 in August, when I take the keys for my Fit from the dealer. I learned a ton on this forum and finally settled for a new FIT, as described in the sig, because (A.) it will be a great toad someday and (B.) you can't find anything perfect. I leased a Yaris and could never get over the central control panel.

By the time you get your Honda in August I'll be 64!
Welcome on board. You'll be happy with the FIT.
August does seem like an awfully long time to wait....

Congratulations ! you will like the FIT. It is fast enough for people our age.

I have the same bad experience in driving the Yaris with central dashboard control panel. Central dashboard vehicle is very risky for me if I have a female passenger who is not my wife on the front seat.

Each time I turn my head towards the right a little to view the dashboard, speedometer etc, my female passenger would think I am trying to eye at at her. ... feel like a dirty old man... though I am not

I am glad I found the FIT with normal dashboard

We are in Africa, where we work as missionaries. Since we have a rather short home-service period, I wanted to make sure that there was no problem getting our wheels as soon as we got back.

Wow - that sounds fascinating. Since I've owned my Fit and been on this forum I've 'met' the most interesting folks. There you are, a world away, spreading the word and buying a Fit. Not sure that says much about Honda, though I feel it does, but certainly says a whole lot about you.

I like your reason. As we all need to keep in mind, perfection is a concept not to be confused with expectations, but simply a goal of faith. In that regard the Fit does come out being a rather good choice....

KrimsonCardnal had brought that up awhile back.. If we did we would have the spontaneous old fart rant sessions on other threads as much as we do and the youngsters will miss out on hearing about what lunatics we were when we were young and crazy.... If we do it they will think we only got the way we are by getting old..

Hey! Speak for yourself... I couldn't resist the temptation of getting a little carried away with increasing the horsepower and improving the handling of my little clown car... I almost always have something ordered, on the way, being installed or saving money for... I'm adding chassis braces and methanol/water injection soon... I derive a somewhat perverse pleasure from the expressions of bewilderment on the faces of yuppie types in expensive performance cars when they try to speed up to prevent me from changing lanes to get in front of them and realize they can't do it, or when I pass 5 or 6 cars on a 2 lane highway after they have been stuck inches off of my back bumper and mumbling away angrily because I am maintaining a safe distance from the car in front of me..
