Age of FIT owners in here?
An inductive strobe timing light was a state of the art necessity you had to have to set the ignition timing on cars with distributors prior to OBD2 ECUs. The ignition dwell on GM and Rambler vehicles required a dwell meter to set the external adjustment points on Delco Remy distributors... Ignition dwell is the time required by the coil to store the power needed to ignite the spark plugs.. I still use the timing light on my wife's 95 GMC truck about once every 7 years or whenever I just want to experience using my timing light for the hell of it... I freaked out a neighbor when I pulled out the dwell meter to check out his ancient Chevy 3/4 ton truck last year... I still have a chart with the recommended dwell and timing settings around here somewhere.
Ya made me go down and look. Box has a craftman timing light, hawk dwell, compression gauge, coolant tester and an assortment of bits and pieces of that vintage auto jetsam. I'm using the torque wrench. Ya just never know, right?
My wife and I just bought our 2010 Fit Sport with Nav last week. My 1990 Nissan Sentra 2 Dr 4 MT needed a lot of work at 193,000 miles; so I traded it in for the Fit. Sweet!
My wife and I are in our mid Fifties and love our Fit.

I had to go out and get the timing light and dwell meter I now have after my old ones were lost in a fire 22 years ago.. They look like they are new they have seen such a small amount service. I never considered that they would be used so little when I purchased them.... I got them very cheap at the time and now I finally am realizing why.... I think that the only car I had with external adjust points was a 72 Cadillac Hearse at that time but I had neighbors with old Chris Craft and other boats with GM powered inboard/outboard units that I always helped out before holiday weekends when their families came up to the resort community I lived at back then... The timing light has seen a lot more use over the years mostly on Harley-Davidson motorcycles

My hand is in the air too! I have those tools, but then, I have a number of old cars that I can still use them on.... 66 Sport Fury, 69 Dodge Sportsman, 73/74 Dodge Challengers, 70 Dodge Charger 500, 83 Chevy Silverado...no, wait, I converted the Charger to a Pertronix electronic ignition!!

44 years old here...
Previous cars:
1965 Cadillac Coupe de Ville
- 429 cu. in. V8, 10 mpg, too expensive to drive
1966 Ford Galaxie 500
- 289 cu. in. V8, slightly better on gas, the one car I wish I still had
1981 Ford Escort
- 1.6 liters, automatic, severely underpowered
1985 Dodge Omni GLH Turbo
- 2.2 liter turbo, 146 hp (great for 1985), a blast to drive but horrendous build quality (actually had a door handle break off in my hand one time).
1990 Volkswagen Jetta
- 1.8 liters, stunning quality for the price, one of the last German-built Jettas imported to the US
1995 Nissan Pickup (still own)
- Will probably own this forever. Bought it used with 105,000 miles on the clock, have put another 102,000 on it myself, it's basic as hell but keeps running no matter what
1997 Subaru Legacy
- Loved the AWD, but prone to mechanical problems
2004 Hyundai Elantra GT 5-door
- Loved everything about it, but sadly it died an early death due to catastrophic cooling system failure
Current cars:
1995 Nissan Pickup (see above)
2010 Honda Civic EX sedan (wife's car)
2010 Honda Fit Sport A/T (love it!)
