Age of FIT owners in here?
My daughters 2007 Yaris hatch is quieter than my 2010 FIT sport [less road/engine noise in the cockpit] but my FIT has a better sound system, is more roomy/comfortable and fuel efficient than the Yaris. It also has more creature comforts and a V-tech.
So, in my opinion, it's better - though she prefers her Yaris!

Plus, why would she admit to liking the same thing as the old man?

Dunno why I just thought of this... i need to clean the inside of my car.

Also, which vehicle has better/more aftermarket support?

Yaris is tighter wheel base and lighter making it a bit more touchy on the road. Not to take anything away from the Yaris but the Fit is simply more of what the Yaris is not...

one problem I had with the Yaris is that the gauges, mileage dashboard is on the center console and I have to frequently turn my head to the right to view the dashboard as I drive...
when my mother-in-law is sitting in the front passenger seat next to me, each time I turned my head to glance to the right to read the dashboard, my mother-in-law thought I am frequently staring at her while driving.
Fit's dashboard is the usual position.. straight ahead.... no wandering eyes

You know there's a saying, it takes all kinds to make the world go round... Some people (somewhere) think 86 is hot (makes better sense if you were also 86).
Hahaha this thread is hilarious!!!
But yea, I don't like Toyota's decision to put the instrument panel in the middle of the dash... too much movement for me, the less I have to turn or look away from the road, the safer I feel.

I think the middle console design for Yaris is part of Toyota cost savings plan so that they can use the same module for all countries whether they are left hand drive or right hand drive. Their Echo also faces the same fate.
I am so glad that Honda is reasonable and does not go to extreme in cutting costs when manufacturing the FITs. The North American FITs are made and assembled in Japan....

29, bought my '09 Orange Revolution Fit Sport in June 2009.
I have owned:
1980 Honda Accord hatchback
1988 VW Cabriolet
1990 Audi 80
2002 Ford Focus ZX4
2002 Ford Ranger XLT
My wife liked my Fit so much, she got one of her own
She has a 2010 in Vortex Blue Pearl that she chose over a Civic of the same year.
