Will this work on an automatic, and will it decrease the life of the engine components?

Yes, it works perfectly on an automatic. And No, it won't shorten any life expectancy of you engine components. Because this unit simply assists throttle regulator to open up/close down faster/slower.

It doesn't change any setup in your ECU.

Pls feel free to post up if you have other questions

Sincerely,
Panson

It is used to speed up throttle response or slow it down... The drive by wire throttle is much slower in opening the throttle as a means of improving fuel mileage. Having an adjustable throttle controller allows you to choose how quickly or slowly the throttle responds to your right foot... It really helps acceleration in the sport settings and the slower economy settings with slower response to your right foot is helpful in improving fuel mileage..

I tried to install mine, but I am having serious problems. The control box would not power up at first and, even when it did, I could not start programming on it - I kept getting an error. When I tried to drive my car, the throttle would not respond at all. I panicked and reconnected the stock throttle wire. My car seems to be working normally again, but the check engine light is still on - PLEASE HELP!

Sir,

No Panic. Just sent you the walkthrough now. Pls follow the walkthrough step by step.

We had 1 similar report as yours and turned out that installer only connect 1 head of the harness to stock connector but forget to insert the other head into the signal box above pedal.

Also, pls check and see if all wires coming out of control box and harness are firm. This might also be one of the causes.

Remember, never drive w/ TC on if you haven't done correct programming steps.

Sincerely,
Panson

It seems that maybe the loose-fitting ODB2 female plug may be causing the issue. Any advice, please?

May i just add, this throttle controller is great! Helps me get great fuel economy than usual, and very spritely when in sports mode. Definitely recommend to those who are thinking about it

User modes I played with on day 1.

EC7 - Driving Miss Daisy mode - Serious gas saver. I stalled while taking off on a hill. There is a lot of hesitation in the pedal. Be careful she'll be a putter. Takes some time to get use to.

EC5 - I found this to be really good on the street. Slows ya down some but easy to get use too.

Norm - This feels fast after you are in any EC mode. Crazy how you feel the difference when switched while driving.

SP5 - Fun. Really moves. Get rid of that hesitation in the pedal. You can really feel a difference in the performance.

SP9 - "KITT, turbo boost NOW"!!!! Be careful on this one. Its way to much fun. No kidding the second you get on the pedal my FIT would spin the tires out of first every time. I can see johnny law & me meeting on this mode.

I have to say is the best bang for the buck part I have ever gotten.
