I want to get one for my bf and I was wondering which version would be better? He drives a 2010 fit GE8 and he commutes a lot.

It would also be much appreciated to get a quote on the product. Thank you!

Hi,

Does this work by taking the throttle signal and then amplifying the signal sent to the ecu from the throttle pedal

or

Does it work by taking the throttle signal and then amplfying the signal sent from the ecu to the throttle body? (This doesn't seem likely since I anticipate the ecu would get very pissed that output from the TPS is greater than the signal being sent to the TB actually commands)

or

3rd Unknown

This is important to me. Increasing the commanded throttle opening from the ecu will 'undo' any programmed delay (for example the throttle closes during an AT shift by about 50% even with the pedal to the floor) and provide real benefits. Increasing the ecu percieved pedal signal on the other hand is well... push the pedal down harder.

Not to say there are no benefits to the ETC if it only modulates the pedal signal, this could be valuable to some users.

Okay, so here is my vision in MSPaint. Does this product exist?

tl;dr
I'm interested in a product that will increase commanded throttle opening post-ecu not pre-ecu. It would defeat any 'programmed opening delay'

Sir,

Here is a simple explanation.

In Sports mode, when you press 10% of the pedal, ETC tricks ECU that the pedal had been pushed 80%. Then ECU will order your throttle to open immediately to 80% position.

ETC is not a power mod that will give out extra HP in 20 mins installation. It surely is a electronic add-on that help smooth out driving in certain conditions.

Hope this would answer your question.,

Sincerely,
Panson

You can get 8 or 10 of these for what a good coilover kit sales for and the gratification is just a few minutes away after it arrives.. My Reflashed ECU was 4 or 5 times what the ETC goes for and with the cost of the rest of the stuff that warranted the reflash you over 20 ETCs... Mine is over 2 years old and still works and provides a setting that goes well with whatever my mood is at the time.

but this mod doesnt provide power or increased turning capabilities. its a "faster" throttle body, but my throttle body is instant responding. i kno the thing turns your foot percent into a higher percent but idk if its 300$ for a mili-secend

Love this product

I absolutely LOVE this product and it's only been two days. The ability to select different throttle curves really exposes how Honda granny'd up the Fit to be a high mileage people mover.

The Sport modes (+5 and up) definitely help eliminate the input-to-response throttle "lag" that your feel from a dead stop or when changing speeds. It sure helps relieve the butt-clenching reaction when making certain left-hand turns in tight traffic! The Sport modes suit my driving style, and the increased throttle sensitivity REALLY adds to the fun factor, which is usually at the top of my list when selecting a mod/upgrade. I can't wait for our Tail of the Dragon run in October - SP7 or SP9? hmmmmm...

I've found that in two days of commuting, I like the Economy 5 setting. Anything above that just makes the throttle lag downright scary. I tend to use my cruise control a lot on the interstate, adding throttle when going up long grades or passing. What the EC5 mode helps me avoid is adding too much throttle and causing a downshift. After 200 miles I can already see a MPG improvement and far fewer downshifts, most likely a result of the ETC negating the effects of my lead-foot. That's a good thing. Making "fast" rolling passes vs planning for "slow" rolling passes is something I will have to get used to, but it will squeeze a few extra miles out of each tank for sure.

Well Jim, I can see that you are using your ETC the same way I use mine... I had never considered that on an automatic it would prevent an unwanted downshift.. That is a plus that I can't experience but would appreciate if I had automatic transmission.

You need to find someone that will let you take a drive in a Fit that has one and get a price quote from Panson... $300 is way off the mark.... The way the engine responds with one of these is very much like one would if it had a lighter than stock flywheel. I thought the same way you do about the function of an ETC when people first began getting them a few years back and paying through the nose for them... What Jim2bFit said about the stock drive by wire system being "granny'd up" is very true, you think your throttle body is responding instantly but with one of these little devices installed you will instantly realize how slow the response is. I realize that it doesn't change anything on a dyno readout but a dyno is just a tool that measures power and torque at a given RPM at wide open throttle, the ETC allows you to instantly be at WOT instead of having your pedal all the way down and having to wait for WOT to happen.... It is really a great device.
