1st anniversary Blast!

Saturday was a short but good day. Removed the T.B. and cleaned it up and the inside of the manifold. Sunday O was a good day fired her up after church and let her warm up while I adjusted the idle. This is the 1st time I have really leaned into her. 1st gear was tire spin (haha loved it) and by then I was @ my buddie's garage where we finished setting the idle and timing. Another spin around the block cracking the 7-8k zone and there still seemed plenty on tap.
almost 1 year to the day but the beast is alive!
What a dif. between the white 88 and this 90 Red Ryder.
Still a lot of work to be done but hot dang what a nice 1st outing. (Smiling)

Frequency from head to toe

Just finished rewiring the sound system in lil red and holy cow is it kkrazzy loud! The bass reminds me of when John Force ran on 100% Nitro B.I.T.D. when he went by ya in the stands at WOT your whole body Shook from the inside out. :)
Well that's what it's like inside this hatch. Good god it's awsum. And so much to learn with all the Hz settings every increment makes a bid dif. in the sound. I'm grabbing a DVD and heading back out to find out what that looks like.
I know for you pups it's just what you have been around from the gitgo, but this ol dog is loving all of it! LOL ddys got a brand new bag!
C-ya :)

Hey Younger Brudder,

Glad to see your post. Be curious as to what yer bad little hot rod could do in 1/4 mile. I'm a drag racing fan from 5,000 years ago. heh I had a chance to go to a Ford sponsored event yesterday, and got a lap in the Fiesta ST, the turbo 1600cc with 6 MT. That little car is F A S T ! Took it around the course in 2nd gear (that's what they told everyone, leave it in 2nd) and it was an e ticket ride. heh I hope Lil Red is at least that fast, will be a blast to drive.

Hey Cliff
I'm not seeing it go very quick, To go fast in the Hondas ya have to strip'em down to bare metal. Lil Red has got so many goodies it's ridiculous, but she's more for the show circuit not the drag strip and that's OK with me :). Shoot just getting everything to work has become a life time ambition on this project.
Well gotta go for now all the kids have decorated eggs and I'm the judge! ;) :-)

Bucket List getting shorter

The Big Find:
Found a vent on CL that was missing in the rear hatch jam. Have been looking for one of these for a year, it's off the civic bucket's list.

Received the update for the Panasonic AVIC N3 nav. system and PDF file to find out how it works.

next little project is to install a switch to turn the amps on/off separate from the key switch.
& DONE :)

Glove Box

Been looking for a glove box for lil red and just can't find it in me to spend the $ ppl are wanting for an old glove box. I can see the latches and plastic that break along with the top of the box where the latch sets in. So me and my ace tech Hailie Mae Perrenoud :) took a look at the box that came with the car. Well brake formed a piece of metal for the top of the box and cut and molded another section of metal and then some of daddy's secret adhesive aka JB Weld sanded and added a new latch and its ready for painting.
Why we just saved 70-100 bucks! Humm I wonder what I can buy for her with the money I just saved? :D
Till the next post thanks for reading.

Hang'n 10

Thankx SS.

So true my friend, it's the chase that's the fun!
I just received a GM RV mirror with map lights that is going on the windshield and the EF mirror is outta there. :) read about that on a CRX board and thought that's a great idea.

Rear View Mirror and Garnish

The 1990-91 hatches had seat belt warning lights are incorporated into the mirror and the plastic is maybe a 15 year life span and then turns to egg shells. So removed all of it and made a cover for the void out of metal, foam padding then covered w/ head liner material, turned out good.
But the silver coming off the OEM mirror glass, So I was looking at what others have done and found that a Donnelly mirror w/ reading lamps was a nice addition. And the extra light is always needed. These use a plastic mount on the wind shield. That's done next is wiring it up.
Then replaced the center garnish on the hatch with the black one from the 88 we sold. Think'n it needs the civic logo with the reversed "C" in civic on it thou. Black reflective ....

And there is light! the mirror is great because the sun roof took out the interior light.
Waiting for the sun to go down to see the full effect :)
Ordered custom rear Civic logos w/ the reversed C for the center garnish in reflective black.

The mirror and the mount passed the bass test still on the windshield! haha. Instead of windshield glue I used 2 part epoxy. I read in a sound off forum that it works better and keeps the mirror on longer.
A video of a SUV had the windshield flex 3" until the bass shattered it. No 'Lil Red doesn't come close to doing that lol.
