I have thought of this little hatch as a large Hot Wheel's car. Just the exaggeration of everything ya know. So I just purchased the perfect emblem for her.
GM has a Hot Wheel's Camaro for 2013 and the logos as just right for little red. It will be in next week.

When I bought the hatch she came with a dented hood and bruised bumper. Moral to that story is Never leave a key-less start manual car in gear!
So I have to repaint the hood and the candy paint that's on the hood can not be matched. So time for a satin black hood with elongated hot rod pin stripe where the "H" WENT.
I hope that can happen soon. I have some motorcycle parts to paint for customers, but then I will make it happen. It will look like the hatch on my signature.
Which is a lot better than epoxy gray primer.
Eventually I see the whole hatch in House of Colors candy apple red on a gold base.

Testing the fit of the console.
When she arrived the bottom where the shift is was down 1/4" from the top and loose as a drunk cheerleader. Drilled into the brace on the D.S. securing with a skunk2 fastener. The P.S. has a plastic anchor in the brace and just had to measure & drill through the leather and add another S2 fastener to the anchor. 1 step @ a time, right? all in all its turning out to be a crazy cool project. :)

Slowed down to a crawl again. Holidays coming up and maintaining our small fleet of cars. Fit, Accord, Windstar, PT, and The Hatch is a distant last the past month. There are a few goodies for it, silicone upper and lower hoses, "Sick" reservoir covers. and a new distributor. The ignitor went out and the part was 70.00 for just that! H.C. for a little bit more I got a new JDM B16A distributor, cap, rotor. I bought one for the 1988 hatch and it's still running fine.

Speaking of the 88, Brandon the new care giver is installing a JDM B18, new seats, headliner was recovered, door panels, rims and tires, tint 25%. Smmmooooth

Great Garage Day!!

We got the manuals for the Viper and electrical diagrams. Stopped by Audio One in Chesapeake, VA. and talked to an ol' friend, Rick. He's been in the after market installation business for 30+ years. He got me straight on a lot functions and settings on the Viper system. I now can pop the doors open with the remote!! big plus especially with shaved door handles.
Got the driver's door back together and it looks great. Installed the new distributor and hoses, and the SickSpeed sock. It's gett'n busy under the hood lol but it makes me smile.

Hop's Place to the rescue

Finally I got a day to paint the hatch's hood. Ever try matching candy colors, it's not too bad. lol :D
Called the local paint supplier close to home and no dice. Then I called Hop's Place on the other side of the water and they had the House of Kolors in stock! yeah. That's why they've been in business since 1928!! ( Providing Hampton, VA With Auto Repairs, Wholesale Auto Parts, PPG Paint and Supplies) the 1 stop shop they do it all.

Shooting it satin black was too plain, & I wanted to see how hard it was to blend candy colors. Wet sand w/ 1500 and buff and she's done Daddy-O. I'm very happy w/ the way it turned out.
1qt. of candy apple red
1 qt. of gold base
1 pt. of hardener
Way too Much! Holy Crap the Bomma dollars are like worthless!
