Went to church and our 5 year old gave her life to Christ! She said she wanted Jesus to be in her heart and forgive her of sin. WOW! So we came home and had our 2nd gift giving with my mom, (93) and she is in really great health and sprits. Lives in her home with her pet Rottweiler drives a drop top Sebring with her rott in the passenger's seat, now that's gets a double take! We sat down and gave thanks for our blessings and had a grand time together!

Best gift we could have gottten this year, Hailie is now Hailie Perrenoud!!! It official! we are truly blessed with this chapter in our lives.

She brought out an old Mopar mag this morning and showed me " this car with the motor on the inside " haha that's my baby girl!! ;D
It was a 70's Dodge Street Van w/ a Hemi in it :)

That is great, most kids are not interested in cars. She probably remembers your old car and giving you your next project which is great for both of you for daughter time.

I have been reading all the posts for this project. It brings back memories from my first Honda, 1986 Civic Si hatch. I loved that car! Bought it new and had it until 1999, 193,000 miles on it. Still kinda miss it.

Mike, what a blessing you have from the Lord with being able to do this work yourself. Thank you so much for sharing. Can't wait to see when it's finished and you get to drive it.

That was the coolest hatch honda ever made, I love the rear hatch, tail light arrangement and recessed headlights. See address above ^ it's a yellow 86.
Thanks Cliff,
Yes He is very good to me and my family. I can't wait for the first shake down cruise too!
Thanks for share'n and thanks for caring.

This is my first real "custom" aftermarket vehicle, and with that said trying to get the bumper to line up with the fenders and hood. Then the halo headlights and corners to fit in their proper place today was..... hummm how can I express this = A royal PITA!! lol. and the 30 year old wiring is another challenge but it's 1 step forward and 3 steps back. Take a break and dive back in.

Mike, the yellow '86 was just like my car. Mine was white. It only came in white and red, so I got white. Good choice for hot Arizona. You know what impressed me about that car? It was 1 HP per cubic inch, which was a big deal when I was a kid. That little car car could go 100 MPH in 4th, which I accidently did once. heeeee

Civic vs. Fit

Well I'll tell ya Cliff they are getting to look like twins. Which is a good thing the Civic has really come a long way in the looks dept. in the past 3-4 yrs.
With the shorter rear windows on the new Fit it complements the wedge shape and the front and rear fascia/ lighting design is really becoming on it.
What's the hp and torque in the '15? the '09 117hp went up a little from the GD3's 109hp.
Nice... it's 130hp and 114 torque the Fit is starting to gain a little cred under the hood :).

The foe vents by the front bumper could make for a "ram air" that with the right exhaust upgrade make a few more ponies at top end...

But a factory K24 would really make for a fun ride. Wish Honda would let use order the drive train like the Big 3 did back in the day.

OK, we need a "how to" on installing big rig air horn on Fit. hahahahahaha

Speaking of Fits, wanted to share with you that I bought used 2013 Fit today. The Lord opened the door and I now have my Fit. YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Gray with gray interior, 5 m/t, Base model. Have to get used to driving a stick again. Nice clutch, easy to take off in 1st gear. Drove home from the dealer in Phoenix traffic argh. Car has plenty of pep, no problem getting on freeway. Car has 3454 miles, financed thru USAA (I'm a vet). Put down $7400 and financed the rest. Was gonna get a set of wheelie bars, but guess I don't really need them. :-)

Congrats Cliff
You'll be a fitfreak now. Sounds like a blessing from above. Lo miles 5spd m/t, all the fun at half the price haha. You're going to have FUN but watch out for the "mod bug" if you haven't caught it yet its prob only hours away from hitting you.
I remember mine when I fist brought her home. Be sure to park it in the driveway so you can take a peek at her now and again lol.

Take some pix and start an album.
