I'm in the ass-end of Glenview, so who knows when they'll get to this area. I think we're on the same substation as the I94 interstate behind my house.

It's kinda annoying, seeing the house directly across the street have power. =_="
You've been getting the kind of weather that is common here... The population is rather sparse here with long runs of power lines to houses and lots of trees that cause problems also. The power line workers are usually quick to restore power but there have been some long waits during ice storms.. Where I lived before coming to where I am now the power cables were buried underground and you'd think that would be better but it wasn't.. Fire ants were eating the insulation off of the wiring and a heavy rainstorm would screw up everything for days.... The way the weather has been lately falls right in line with Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" or I should say that in time we will see if that is the case... Weather down here has always been full of surprises so us older guys can't help being skeptical... I would be terribly bored if things were always the same but I have to admit that I liked the hell out of the weather in San Diego.

That is exactly what I was just thinking......... I really need to go out and turn a wrench, well really a bunch of them but the humidity is murderous.. It's a cool 90 degrees and cloudy out but in five minutes I am soaked with sweat.

Yeah, I love San Diego weather too.

Well, almost 4:30 pm, and still no power. At least the water was hot for my shower. Off to work, lets see if power comes back when I get home.

Edit: its 10:30 pm, and yup, still no power.

They say they'll restore 90% by tomorrow... with my luck, I'll be in the remaining 10%!!!

Great minds think alike.

I do agree though, this heat and humidity is horrendous! Can't even get anything done outside in the shade because so humid. In fact, the day that I balanced the Fit's tires at school my shirt was just drenched with sweat. Wasn't rushing or anything to get them done (took 45 minutes) but the several brief, 2 minute showers that day did not help at all.

What all do you have to get done?

Oh Hootie, I have the water/methanol system, 5 different chassis bars and a fan that I also need to fab a mount/duct to fit under the intercooler plus a mess of other little things... I'm having off and on knee back and sciatic pain that wasn't bothering me too much until it rained a couple of days ago... there isn't a mention of rain in the weather forecast but my arthritic body says otherwise... I can usually handle one or the other but right now it's got me overwhelmed and the older I get the worse it gets... If I had known that all of the crazy stuff I did when I was young was going to hurt so bad now I would have lived my life a lot differently... I always figured I wouldn't have lived this long and would have been shot by an angry husband or something.

I see. Well if you don't happen to get some of those on before the next meet feel free to bring some of the parts with you if you happen to come. I'll be willing to give ya a hand to install them during the meet.

Also, a side note for everyone. Just made a new video thread, check it out and feel free to share videos.

I know I should be going to sleep, but damn... I'm bored. This forum is o-so-quiet. I even tried looking for other forums to at least to find something interesting to read... nope, no dice there (other than an inordinate amount of forum-vs-forum snobbishness at one of them).

I need me some motivation... to do anything, other than be bored out of my skull.

Yea Ive noticed some deadish-ness as well. The 1st and 2nd gen specific pages are somewhat busy, mostly with people introducing themselves and their bone stock fit -__- . But the Fit Trix pages are dead..at least for the GE. It seems like everyone is much less active than when I first started lurkin

Potential employers can now get a report showing pictures you're tagged in and statuses you've made, pages you've liked, groups you've joined; and use them against you. I don't want that.
