Indeed. I'm sure once he gets the car going from a dig and up hill start locked down he'll be fine.

The other day I ended up stepping in some ants and had a few of them end up nomming on my leg. A couple days later, most of the bites are just red dots but right above the ankle is a nice little welp. Not sure if those ants were carpenter or fire ants though.

Indeed they do but I don't think the ants were fire ants. The bites haven't blistered or pussed up yet.

I've seen a little bit of Battlestar Galactica on BBC America before but never really sat down and watched it. What is it about?

spaceships and robots lol ..you should wiki it. The original show was cheesy (but cool in its own right)
but the re-fresh they did was pretty awesome, and is probably one of my favorite sci-fi universes.

You cut yourself with a hot knife? YIKES!!

Yeah, some motherboards get bad reps for things like part placement.

I'm using a H70 corsair all-in-one water cooler, which means the part that goes on the CPU is no wider than the CPU mounting hole area. The only problem with it, there's no fan to directly cool off the ram and other nearby components, that a more traditional CPU heatsink/fan combo would. My only hope is that I get enough overall air movement in the whole case to cool them off. For that, I have a massive 220 mm fan mounted in the side panel blowing onto everything, including a lot of dust!

water cooling sounds cool, maybe for my next build
so you only have one big fan in your case? is that enough?
i have seven 120mm fans set at low speed in mine
when i set them all on high, my computer is louder than my mom's prius

This isn't a full water cooling setup, just a pre-made all-in-one. So, better than air, but not as good as a full custom water cooler. You could easily pop it in your case just to replace the CPU fan tower.

I have plenty of fans. 5 120mm fans, two of which are on the front and back of the H70 radiator for a push/pull effect. The other three are in a general intake/exhaust setup. I could take out the 220 mm fan and replace it with 6 more 120s. I actually don't pay attention to the speed of most of my fans, but they are a bit annoying.

I really should get back into playing some of my games... my friend just keeps ranking up in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (last I checked was 44), while I'm barely rank 22.

Its a type of tint. It keeps out heat without having to darken your windows.

I am thinking about finishing off a bottle of Mescal...It's better than Tequila in frozen margaritas especially if you use Puro Cano or Everclear to make up or surpass the alcohol content of Tequila, plus you get to eat the worm when you finish the bottle.

Anyone else without power?

Came home from work last night and found the place dark. Power was out on my side of the block.

14 hours later... still dark. And they say it might take 2 or 3 more days before power is restored to some places.

The battery isn't going to last on my 3g tablet. I'm sure most of the stuff in fridge is bad now.

Yay...

Last night's t-storm plus 70 MPH wind gusts knocked down tree branches (and some whole trees) across the area, taking power lines with them.

By 10 pm last night there were supposedly 167,000 people without power across the burbs. By 10 am, the count is down to 88,000.

I'm in the ass-end of Glenview, so who knows when they'll get to this area. I think we're on the same substation as the I94 interstate behind my house.

It's kinda annoying, seeing the house directly across the street have power. =_="
