i agree with you, im justing looking for a simple DIY on this as well some needs to make a to the point DIY and make a sticky with no added post, just the how to with pics possibly!!
so take the diy's i did and paste them to a new thread. then have the moderator sticky them. can't get any simpler than that. i probably know as much about electrical wiring as you. just a pair of balls to give it a try from what someone else hypothesized about (thanks again j5ive).

its just that if you were new to the site and wanted to do this mod youd have to read through 15 pages and with all the back and forth can confuse someone quite easy. not that you didnt do a good DIY its just that the DIY should be somewhat of a guide for someone to follow.

I followed the instruction of this write-up in post #173 and now I can use my fog light
independently. I'm not too keen with DIY but with a clearly instructed
write-up like this one, I did it with confidence. It took me a good half an hour or so
to complete.
Here's a picture taken right after the completion. Not a good one but
enough just to let all know:

I'm still not sure if this "mod" is going to do anything to my dash lights. I dont want lights on when they arent supposed to be on. I dont want dim lights, i just want my fogs to work when i turn them on, period.
Ditto that. This is one of the most frustrating 'mod' threads I've ever encountered on the internet anywhere. It does seem like a simple mod, but how about some answers to some simple questions: does it dim the dash lights during daytime with the fogs on? does the fog-light indicator come on during the day with the fogs on? Is there any way to correct these problems? I don't want to live with dim dash lights just to have full control of my fogs.
Performed this mod this afternoon, posts 173 and 232 made it easy, except...position 24 is unusable in my 08. In fact, all empty slots in my fusebox have no power, I ended up using 22. Anyone else run into this??
I have this same problem with my 08, I used an add-a-fuse for my under dash lights, and had to piggy back it with the acc fuse. My ideal setup is to have the independent fogs that turn on the lights under the dash as well.

thanks for all your help leonine, the fog setup on my fit works great, even in hi/low beam but this was a pain in the ass to get to all the wire due to all the spaces limited.. i'll post picture up soon.......
here's a few pics of how to mod the wiring to have your fogs work with the high-beams.
Below is a pic of the bottom right of the fuse box inside the car. The relay above the empty slot is for the fogs.
Next is a shot from behind. Cut the red/wht wire. Cap off the car side and run a length of wire to the portion coming out of the relay.
Finally, ground the wire and your done.
Hope that helps for those having any difficulties.

Thanks j5ive and leonine! I cut the wrong wire at the steering wheel the first time around, just from a bad memory of how to do it, but having put the disconnects on, it went back together no problem. Wired it up to slot #22, and fogs work anytime!
