Had GE8 Tanabe DF210s installed. Didn't work out too well lol after the install, there was clunking. Gonna go back to stock while I wait for the right Tanabes.
Well, after trying on Tanabe DF210 for the GE8 on my GD3, it was a fail. Back sat lower than the front and there was clunking noises. I think the guy that installed it for me did something wrong.
Today I said fuck it. I'm gonna learn how to install springs myself since I had my stock ones. Took about 4 hours but it was definitely a fun learning experience. Waiting on my GF210s.
Anywho... Exercised the GD a little bit today since its living a temporary retired life from autocross this year due to needing a mental break as well as budget constraints. Drove it to work to air up the tires since there is a slow leak in the right front (AD08Rs are at 3/32nds... replacing soon, not patching), gave it a quick rinse off then motored on the freeway for a bit.
After that brief stint I had stopped to fuel up for a pleasant surprise... 30.59 MPG with the KWSC on a A/T Sport which is a new personal best so far.
Just got done giving it a spray wash to get the remaining pollen and road grime off the car thanks to the sporadic rain and constant heat here in the armpit of south east Texas. Its a real sorcer today since the heat index is about 107 to 110 degrees. O.o

Nice! Changed the oil, replaced worn out weatherstripping, aired up the tires to 35psi and my '07 Base Model at 145k miles just pulled 40MPG on the highway. Wow!!
Was relieved to discover that it connects to the cars central locking. So to unlock the hatch now i just have to unlock all the doors from the driver door keyhole. The few extra steps is well worth it.
I loved my wife's fit so much I bought my own , Picked up a 07 fit sport bone stock with 84k miles. Wont be stock for long! Starting with a sound system. Here are a couple pics of it stock and I'll post updates once my crutchfield order comes in. Just wanted to say hello and post some pics before i start.
Installed dynamat in all 4 doors (interior panels and the inner/outer door shell itself) installed a Pioneer AVH-2550NEX head unit , JL audio C2-525 (tweeters crossovers 5.25" woofers) in the front doors, JL audio C5-525cw-rp 5.25" woofers in the rear doors, and a sony xms400d mini amp hidden in the dash behind head unit. Next step will be the subwoofer for the hatch area....... here are pics so far! Pioneer AVH-2550NEX sony xms400d mini amp hidden in dash up behind the head unit Used stock housing and retrofitted the JL tweeters in so it keeps stock look
I’ve been tinkering here and there with small issues here and there lately. Last weekend I sent some weed whacker string (doubled over itself and taped for rigidity) and rammed it in and out through the fuel evap drain tube (P2422 check engine for about a month) and the light hasn’t been back.
Today, I removed the driver door panel once again and had my daughter hose the roof in that corner while I sat with my phone/flashlight, looking for the culprit(s) of the continued cabin leaking. First leak was coming through one of the plastic clip holes for the door panel. Second leak was sneaking in above at the windshield corner (pinhole between the glass and rubber/silicone). I added a piece of gorilla tape over the clip hole and poked it with a screwdriver. Hopefully that creates some kind of gasket once the panel is in place. Currently waiting for the small areas around the windshield to dry before I bust out the trusty silicone to spread around. Will update. 👍
Clip hole next to speaker. Driver side windshield, top corner. Pinhole is covered by molding (which is crumbling). Track water takes (inside) and follows weatherstripping down (hidden from view while this happens). Path water takes and pours out to the right at the floorboard.
Replaced endlinks. Had to use a cutoff wheel for the bottom bolt on the driver side, it did not want to budge! New ones (Moog) went on smooth.
Thought about selling and getting a GE or GK.

Not worth downgrading in my honest opinion.
GEs aren't as simple to work on as the GD in terms of accessibility as well as you can't shim the factory rear axle at all of you're particular about alignment specifications... Though there is a LOT more storage space and the Navi 5 speed manuals are rare if you can find one (2009 and 2010 MY only).
GKs are a little more practical to service that the GE but the woes of carbon build up worry me personally. In addition to that, I find that it has very poorly padded arm rests (I.E. Thin console pad or hard plastic rest on door panel). With all that said and between those two gens... the GK in my honest opinion is a updated or matured GD and would be the better choice as a daily over the GE.
That's just me though... I'm passively toying with the idea of collecting one of each gen. haha
