What did you learn about the JVC dimming/illumination wiring?

I ordered the 2012 gunmetal grey surround, brackets, and screws to install an aftermarket double din head unit.

Question for the guys who have been there done that. Since I have the OEM panel, brackets and screws coming, if I order from Crutchfield those items are included in the silver color if I order from the 2012 Fit page.

For the immediate thin surround around the head unit, will the head unit and/or Crutchfield kit give me what I need, or should I order the Pilot head unit kit to get the thin immediate surround? Are any of these gunmetal color?

Metra 95-7801

Why hasn't anyone use the metra 95-7801 kit? it has the tabs to lock it in to place. I have used it on civic and cr-v. Honda has been using the same odd din size.

I've always used metra 95-7801 honda size double din. You can buy it amazon or ebay.
