How much did you pay for your Fit?
Wow. All this info is great. I'm planning on picking up a Black 2013 Fit Sport M/T within the next 10 days. First time car buying without my parents. I'm getting quoted at $16,104 + Dest, doc fees and TTL from one dealership here (Chicagoland area), but I think it sounds too good to be true. He doesn't have the car in his lot but he said he could obtain one and sell it to me for that price. His emails though look so non official and don't have small print disclaimers like the other dealers I've requested quotes from. Am I being lead into a trap?
Another dealer said they would "match or beat any fair deal" and he wants me to forward him the email... but I also think that is kind of jeoperdizing the other dealer. Is this fair?

Are you asking if the price is fair, or sending the quote to another dealer? I can't speak to the price, but as for competition, make these dealerships sweat. I regularly pulse several dealership service departments and have them compete for my maintenance. Once I get the lowest price, I then take the quote to my regular mechanic and see if he'll match the price. I also throw other national automotive shops into the mix as well. This is hard earn cash you are parting with; don't just "donate" it away.
I got a quote from a local dealer and then ended up buying from one 100 miles away because they guaranteed me 0.9% financing and the other dealer would not. The local one was $200 cheaper, but that is quickly overcome by a difference of 6% in interest. I drove the car off the lot without a penny down.
There is nothing unethical about shopping before you buy.

I was at the dealer last night and negotiated down to $17,418 for a brand new 2013 Fit Sport Automatic. My wife and I pick it up on Tuesday night. I received an online quote from DCH Academy Honda in Old Bridge, NJ for $17,818. We went into Bay Ridge Honda in Brooklyn, NY to see if they would match it; was originally quoted invoice of $18,300 from Bay Ridge. I showed them my quote via email and they beat it by $400. I think I got a pretty good deal all things considered.

Purchase date: June 2013
Model: 2010 Base, 5-speed
Miles: 70k
Price: $9700 cash
A few mods from previous owner but nothing big: wheels with new tires, springs, tail lights, and tint.
For the past month I've been getting 39-41 mpg's. I'm pretty happy with that in TX and the heat.
