How much did you pay for your Fit?
You're in the east coast so you might want to look-up what specific fees your state charges and what any applicable sales/use tax would be added.

This probably isn't the best place to ask, but are any of you buying the manual transmission? I'm in North Carolina and having a hell of a time trying to find a Honda Fit with MT. Dealers are basically looking at me like I have two heads! Its too bad because I do like the fit but am set on MT. Any advice would be appreciated.

Anybody near NY looking to buy a fit? I will be getting a 2011 Fit sport A/T for $17,600 plus tax, title, and reg. I think thats a pretty good deal. Let me know if you are so i can tell you what dealership to go.
My final purchase of a 2012 Fit Sport AT today ended with $18,100 AND 0.9% financing for 60 months. You can read the details by following that hyperlink.
This was due to a mistake by the dealership. But the important thing is that they made it right by acknowledging their mistake and honoring the agreement. I give Honda of Stevens Creek five stars for doing the right thing!

This was clearly a one-off thing. It's unlikely they'll make the mistake again. Still, I'm glad they kept me whole.

Honda has the .9% Fit special clearly advertized on their finance website. You should check out the yelp reviews just for grins.

Oh no.. they have all of that here too.. Inspection is $10, tires are 12.50, a plate transfer can run about $75 and the dealers will typically charge 50-75 to do the leg and paperwork for you (rather than deal with DMV yourself.)

There are M/T Fits out there. Whether they are close to where you are...I would suggest checking dealer inventory in the surrounding areas/states. Most, but not all, of the dealerships have online inventory. I do know that there are some in NY, NJ and CT but that is a little bit far!
So I now have an orange fit sport, A/T, wheel locks, applique, door visors. Including about $175 in dmv fees and sales tax in NY the final out the door was $19,984. Also included as part of a dealership promo was a dash mount gps amazon valued around $70. Probably could have gotten a couple hundred more off had I delayed the deal but I was on foot power for a few weeks so needed to get this done - waiting for a '12 on the east coast was also not doable
but I think I'll be happy none the less.

Hello forum! I am very close to purchasing a Fit, but have a question. I have negotiated other cars and have gotten invoice and close to invoice before but do not know what it will be like for the Fit since it is priced very close to its invoice. From experience, do you think I may be able to get close to invoice since the 2012 are fairly new? I have read and done some homework and the Fit seems to be one of those cars that aren't priced very much higher than invoice which usually includes its handling charges. I would assume a fare price would be not having to pay for the shipping and handling charges? (I know it varies on dealerships and sales persons)
This is what I am looking to purchase: 2012 Fit Sport Auto w/o navi
I may consider the 2011 if I can get a better deal, but unfortunately my visit to the dealership today and seeing the 2012 rims and headlights have got me hooked!

I would email all dealership near you asking for their best price. Make sure to tell them to include all fees (doc, prep, destination, etc) but not TTL. After you get all the response, i would go to the best three dealership with the best price. I would start to negotiate a little bit less than the best price i got.
The recent experience i had was last weekend with my fit. The best that i got was $17800 from email. I went to one dealership and asked if they can sell it for $17600. They said yes but they have to add doc fee which is $300. I walked out. And also dont show them you are there to buy. I told them i was just gonna check out the new civic. After half an hour, i got a call that they can do my price so i went back and bought it.
Hope it helps. I've been doin the same thing everytime i have to buy a new car.

I appreciate the advice and stories guys. I have emailed a few and they have returned with emails with prices of msrp or a little less, 18,100. I have done some research and it seems that the fit is one car that does not budge much off the msrp price. Why? I have no idea... Maybe because of the deman? Regardless, the Fit is a car that is purchased by people of all ethnicity, ages and for different purposes.
Last night I went to a local dealer and spoke to a saleman, he says that the most he would be able to give is 100 - 200 off the msrp price which would land me right around low 18k. IDK, i guess in the end $200 isnt much of a deal to me, I just dont want to get raped! LOL!

That's what I paid for my 2012.
