How much did you pay for your Fit?
The recent experience i had was last weekend with my fit. The best that i got was $17800 from email. I went to one dealership and asked if they can sell it for $17600. They said yes but they have to add doc fee which is $300. I walked out. And also dont show them you are there to buy. I told them i was just gonna check out the new civic.
At this point it really comes down to how badly the dealer wants the car off the lot. Some do, some don't. 18.1 isn't a bad price but if you are not compelled to buy you can certainly string it out a bit or wait for 12s to show up in your area. If I had been able, I would have waited for 12s to show up in Nov in my area even if it meant not as good a deal.

oh well, that's why im going for a new one...
FYI, doc fee is supposed to be illegal in NY but legal in CT. Also, some dealers will charge you a samll fee for handling the inspection, title and registration bs.

but again, these fits are high demand cars... everyone wants one! as a dealer told me earlier today, "even if i do not sell to for 18k today, someone else will buy it for asking price of 18.5k tomorrow or the next." it kind of makes sense, dealers know they will sell.
Pricing for the Fit is all about supply and demand and from recently watching the market the demand seems to be actually accelerating. Add on top of that the tsunami effect, the fact that the proven Fit is still considered the top dog compared to the Fiesta and other newcomers and with the inclusion in 2011 of VSA and traction control for non-Nav's you have a situation where those that may have been holding out because of the lack of these features in previous model years are finally pulling the trigger. I personally wanted to buy a Fiesta but after driving one, reading about all the tranny issues and seeing the form over function philosophy I decided to get the Fit. It's a great car for the money even at MSRP.
wow... best price i got was $200 under msrp on a 2011 sport w/ navi! i took it though since i coudn't wait for another MR to come in! i think i got raped a bit since the 2012's are out and beginning to roll in but oh well. i like the 2011 bumper and smaller mesh grill. 6 miles on the odo and right out of the show room! happy to be in a fit!
(waving goodbye to 17mpg and saying hello to more $$$ in my pockets!)

I just put down a deposit and it is being ordered from factory. $17,423 for 2012 Sport Fit Manual. That is $257 under MSRP and supposedly $206 over invoice.
Plus tax, $150 Doc Fee and license fee, comes to $19,273 OTD.

Know your numbers. Be familiar with the Honda web site and its prices. Then I highly recommend "playing stupid" and walking into every dealer in town to see how they treat an "uninformed customer."
2012 Honda Fit Base (manual)
Vehicle $15,765.00
Documentation $199.00
Sales Tax $1054.00
Title/Registration $247.00

Total $17,265.00
It pays to be patient. I won't see my Fit until almost Christmas because I had to order it. But they only ask for $500 up front (refundable, if I back out).
If you dealer can't offer you this at minimum, find another dealer. I drove to five other dealers first, and ended up 60 miles away before I found a dealer that treated me right.
Good luck!

Got my 2010 Fit LX in February of 2011. Nice milano red.
Saskatchewan, Canada
Total $18,639.00
Additionals Included:
All weather floor mats
Block heater
Drove it to 3000km then this happened...

Someone swerved into my lane while I was shoulder checking. That was it. SUV's are much tougher than Fits in this type of situation...

$12,600 on my insurance later. All fixed. Just a problem with paint flaking under the driver-side door and my bumper needed repainting after they damaged it while it was in the shop.

My first post
I picked up my 2012 Base MT Fit in Vortex Blue Pearl w/ door edge guards exactly one week ago. It had 5 miles on it. Had to order it and expected it to arrive in 10 days but it arrived in 7. Paid $15945 + $347 for DMV stuff = $16,292. I'm in Oregon so there's no sales tax.
I was skeptical about the cost of DMV stuff so I checked out the DMV website. The title, registration, plates, & trip permit total $302. So I'm paying the dealership $45 to handle it for me.....totally worth it.
