Big thanks to Fast Brakes, Jodele and his thread https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...tallation.html

A few observations...
The rotor is about an inch larger in diameter, its also a lot thicker then ours
The calipers, brake pads and pistons are freakin huge compared to our calipers
The brake pedal feels totally different - more brake pedal travel to stop the car. I'll have to bleed the calipers again to make sure there isnt any air in the system.

Took my Fit for the first drive in nearly a month (to do some shopping)... hopefully it was long enough to charge the battery more than it got drained just starting up.

Where have you been wandering, you haven't been around here in awhile or I haven't seen any post by you if you have...My Fit still has the battery that came with it and it always starts, maybe I'm blessed or something... Truth is I hook a charger to it every so often to break down the sulfation that builds up on the plates.

I've been in Cambodia for the last 4 weeks. Got back Christmas morning after 30 hours of travel (21 in 3 planes, 9 hours in LAX). God, I hate international travel... all that waiting and customs. then travelling with my mother gives me a headache on top of it all. GAH.

Like I said in another post, I saw 11 Fits (though, I'm pretty certain one of them was the same one twice... not sure about the rest) in Cambodia. And they were all 1st Gens.

I don't think I've ever used a charger... my father and brother usually just jump dead cars them using another car. I might buy one, one of these days. I mean, last winter, I used my Fit to jump start my sister's van 5 times (before she finally replaced the battery). And the battery has died twice on me now. 1st time was right after installing the new head unit... I was messing around with the radio, but engine off, so I drained it. I got lucky and there was enough juice in the battery after a little wait to start the car. The second time was the 4 weeks of downtime just now. Again, lucky because my sister's SUV was already parked right in front of my Fit, facing each other. But soon, my sister and her husband will be back at the apartment and most likely take their SUV and van with them. So, if my Fit dies again... it won't be pleasant.

In case anyone was wondering, I was mostly in Phnom Penh. With a few short trips around the area.

Piece of advice... don't forget the bug repellent. I got almost as many mosquito bites as that night I worked on the Fit bumper/headlights.

Today I installed my new roof rack, snowboard and bike carrier onto my Fit. I attempted to finally put my cf vinyl on the roof that I had but failed terribly and ruined it...sooo basically wasted money on that...kind of pissed me off, oh well.

Yesterday I tried out my new Gilmour Foamaster-----I like it! Used it and the double bucket method on my black Fit. Cleaned the windows inside and out, then moved it into the garage to avoid the oncoming deluge. Today I vacuumed, 303ed the interior, and waxed with DP Max Wax. SHINY!! A 2011 with just shy of 2000 miles. Photos tomorrow!

Got raped by a hand held "slow" sign... On the interstate where they are doing construction, woman ran over the sign and it bounced up and started tumbling end over end. Couldn't swerve into the 18 wheeler next to me or into the concrete barrier on the other side so I tried to get as close to the barrier as possible and it hit the bumper. Gouged a lovely chunk of plastic and paint out of the bumper and left an inch and a half gouge in the carbon fiber lip. Almost wish it had hit the windshield instead.

Just hasn't been a great day for me. Xbox died when I got home too. Red ring of death strikes again I guess. Can't really complain since it is the original 360. Oh well, here's to hoping tomorrow is better and getting the paint fixed isn't too costly...

Installed a new Circuit Hero shift extender on my current Mugen short shifter and Valor shift knob. I'm not usually quick to judge but this thing kinda sucks. Shifts feel sloppy and the throw is like rowing the gears in a 1990 jeep. At least they accidentally sent me a limited edition $45 gunmetal one instead of the $35 regular one I ordered and paid for. Unless it starts to grow on me, you might see this on the classifieds soon.

Swapped off my Konigs and crap all seasons for my painted stock wheels and fresh Blizzak WS60s. Also replaced my front brake pads with Hawk Performance Ceramics, resurfaced my OEM rotors, and installed some 15mm spacers in the rear. I'd like some 10 or 15mm spacers up front, but I need to recover from the holidays, first.

Before:

After:

Sitting nicely on 15mm spacers, probably could have done 20, but they'd be too wide to use with my summer wheels, then:

Overall fitment is nice, but fronts could be a little wider. Now I need to replace all red stickers with teal ones, and get some white Honda emblems for the wheel center caps to finish them off.

Also got some new headlight bulbs (Osram Nightbreakers Plus) and new 5-led wedge bulbs for the license plate frame, to replace the cheapo ones I have in there.

Talking

Installed a Progress 19mm RSB! Only 1 word suffices to describe the effect:

WOW.

Should have done this a long time ago!

Haha, it's just right here in TX. Even washed my car twice this week. I've been mia mostly because I hadn't wanted to do any mods. Went thru a rough patch when the s.o. was laid off and so we were pinching pennies. Well now we are on the upswing and paying things off and getting in the black and for some reason the mod bug has bitten again. I want so much now. Argh!
