FIT survived the 28 hour drive to NJ/NYC and back to Chicago. She scraped and rubbed and thought my exhaust won't make it but she is home in one piece.

Great picture, the tolls are a killer getting around the city. I was down there with my Fit back in June by accident. My Tom Tom took me down into Manhattan to get to JFK.

Fake Plate

Well, it's been 3 weeks, and I'm tired of driving around with a paper plate advertising Dublin (CA) Honda...so I took it off the back, and put on the imitation Japanese plate saying "F IT". On one hand I'm running a slight risk of a stop, maybe even a ticket. On the other hand I still have my temp registration taped to my windshield, another paper Honda plate on the front of the car, and no registration stickers on the fake plate.

So I'll risk it. If stopped with my wife in the car she'll be mad. If I have to pay a fine I'll be mad and she'll be furious.

On the other hand, for over 5 years I drove a modified Suzuki Samurai with a real CA plate saying "SLOW 4X4" and on the back of my jerry can a fake AZ plate saying "MY TOY". I was often asked by friends, or folks at gas stations, "aren't you bothered or ticketed by the police for running two license plates?" but I never was. The CA plate was in the traditional location with registration stickers and lights at night. The AZ plate had no lights, no stickers, and was not a real plate. I'll post if the local police take issue over this with me. I figure my real plates will now get here any day.

sharing my thoughts...

after moving down to 16x7 from 17x7... my average mpg shot at 34 from 27mpg. during the drive to NJ/NYC and back... I averaged 30mpg keeping up with the group. I would say not bad at all.

pic is from the group that left Saturday 2am...

Woke up early this morning to give her a MUCH needed wash. Haven't washed her in a while since it's been raining a lot here lately. I didn't have time to wax her so I'll probably be doing the same thing again Tuesday or the next day that it's mostly cloudy outside.

I'll be ordering my HID lights tomorrow but after that I'll be holding off on modding until I take care of some other more boring things.

hummm.... shouldn't be too heavy... hummm... but then your bbs might be super light. not sure where the delta's coming from. could be a lot of variables.

but at least you're getting good mpg while sporting nice wheels.

DON'T put HID lights in your stock headlights!!! You NEED a retrofit w/ projectors to properly run HIDs. If you put them in your stock REFLECTOR housings you're actually going to LOSE visibility as well as blinding everyone on the road and they will hate you!

Rolled my rear fenders more. Still had a tiny bit of rub. Rolled the piss out of them! Made those fender lips totally flush with the inside of the fender.

Not necessarily Fit-related, but I am doing a retrofit for a SEMA show car and the bezels just returned from my painter:

Yep definitely had the heat gun there. No paint problems. All in all it's a pretty easy process. The heat definitely helps with the bending of the metal as well. As with most things, you just gotta take it slow at first and make sure everything's working fine as you go.
