I will be heating and rolling my fenders more too (no pull just fold it good) mostly the rear as I'm rubbing there most on big dips

rear tire shavings... back powder...

also... seen a lot of GEs with rolled and/or pulled fenders with "BEFORE" fender picture. I'm a bit anal about it and fixed mine, "AFTER" picture.
looks more clean and keep things in the "flow". a little OCD won't hurt

sounds good! ive not done this process myself so interested to try down the road.

^thanks both... I think they also make the fender get that more of a finished look and in doing so I'm also clearing the metal part where the screw clods the fender and bumper as I have no tire stretch.

Hmm. Well that kind of puts a wrench in my plans. Well then the headlights will go on the back burner. Can't afford a retrofit right now. So I guess the LED interior and spoiler is next.

This evening, I installed some metal (expanded aluminum, I think) gutter guard in the front air intake grille to protect against stones and such. I did manage to get a couple of little scratches on the bumper in the process, which is a bit of a bummer, but not too worrysome since plastic won't rust.

Good choice on waiting for $$ for a retrofit. Projectors are the best (and only good/safe) way to go for HID Lighting.

I am actually running a 55W 8000K kit in the stock headlight housing and they are much brighter than my stock bulbs. I would say it doubled my field of view...and no one ever flashes their brights at me saying that my headlights are too bright

lol you're lying to yourself. 8000k is way too blue to light anything up.

"Field of View" isn't really what you want to light up. You don't need to see things way off to your left and right or directly above you which is what an HID bulb in a reflector housing (not designed for HID) will do. Much of that scattered light hits objects closer to you and reflects back (instead of reflecting things off in the distance like a headlight is supposed to do). When this occurs(close reflection), your pupils constrict allowing less light in and in turn, limiting what you actually see. It may be brighter, but likely the combination of 8000K and reflections means you actually SEE less (especially where it is important - on the road directly in front of you).

HID in a reflector is "Quantity", HID in a projector is "Quality". After All, Visibility is about what you can actually see.

Hi, Fitfreak.

this would be my first post here. Just got my Jazz RS 2012 on Aug 9th and haven't done much mods.
Used to drive Honda City type Z with D15 engine 175hp.
(should've kept the rims hiks hiks hiks...)

for my Jazz, i'm currently doing audio upgrade first

subwoofer box underneath the back seats

3way system on dash

amps

Hopefully the audio setup will be finished today.

Going to sound like an ass in this post, but you state you are from Muncie, Indiana, all I can picture is mostly trucks. If that is the case, that is why you are not getting flashed at. I want to smash every damn car with bullshit HID kits installed right in the headlamp with a bat or whatever. When a car is lowered as well as driving position a good amount, it is even worse with these piece of shit kits blinding others. Even stock kits are a bit blinding at times in the right situation. And 8000k!!! are you serious? Have you looked at a color chart to see what exactly your headlights are emitting as far as color goes? It is quite blue and your stock headlights would work much better in every scenario.

Like I said, I am running a 55W kit. The higher wattage actually washes out some of the color.... a 55W 8000K kit is very similar to a 35w 6000 kit which is closer to natural light. But no matter what opinion one has of his own car which he drives on a daily basis, he will always be wrong to the Fit "EXPERTS"

Also, instead if saying field of view, I should have said visibility. I can see much further directly in front of me.

Washes out some of the color? The Kelvin rating is the Color Temperature. 8000K is... 8000K. It's like saying the animal I hit is "Deader" than the one the guy next to me hit because I hit him driving faster than he did. That plus running blue lights is blatantly illegal.

What you may be experiencing is the scatter working slightly in your advantage because the lights weren't aimed right (too low) from the factory. If the factory bulbs had been adjusted right, you'd have better vision with them. (Not necessarily more light, but better vision).

There are no two ways about it. HIDs in reflector housings is WRONG. It's incredibly obvious when you see someone who has done this, and anybody who knows anything and sees this is going to think, "what a dumb 16 year old ricer." JUST because no one has flashed their brights at you does not mean NO ONE has been annoyed. Most people won't even flash their lights at someone driving w/o their lights on. That's just the way people are. Does every person who sees you get annoyed? Certainly not. But car people will know exactly what you did wrong, and shouldn't that be enough??? If you like cars and your peers are telling you you're doing it wrong, shouldn't THAT be enough to keep you from doing it or take them out if you already have them?

yesterday i got Swift Springs installed. the car doesn't look so much like a micro-van anymore. handles great and the car doesn't feel like its gonna flip over anymore when doing hard turns.

earlier, i installed LED back up lights, brake lights and front sidemarkers. everything was going well until the left side tail lights wouldn't light up and when i tried to pull out the brake light to check for polarity, the damn led bulb fell into the light.

tape with a stick didn't work and had to learn how to remove the tail light assembly the hard way. let's just say i learned how to pull the rear panels now. well at least a good learning experience for when i install sound deadening and maybe upgrade my tail lights to something else.
