Did this yesterday. Damaged my rear diffuser so I replaced the center section and decided to Black out the exhaust tips for a more stealth look after seeing it done by another member.

progress rear swaybar and parts for another DIY intake on the way. Got tired of the uber shortram I had. was literally TB>MAF>filter

now it will be TB> 90degree coupler>MAF> 2.25-2.5 coupler>2,5" tube> filter!

should boost air velocity slightly with the length added, and allowing air to straighten a bit before and after MAF tube

What's rude is your stupid HID glare blinding my F'ing eye. Now that's rude!

I don't care if you took a picture with a HD camera! Stupid HID in a non projector housing will always look like shit!

Now maybe instead of assuming I was being rude, you'd get educated and take some advice before getting all defensive.

well it's fine if my lights look like shit, it is what i like that matters right. if you would have said, hey your lights are would look better in a projector housing, that would be a suggestion but just saying that looks terrible is rude and i cant see anyone not getting defensive over that. With all that being said i hope you have a good night and sleep good, i will.

Actually no, it's not about what you like that matters. When your lights blind people it no longer becomes just about you.

Also if you seriously too "that looks terrible" as a reason to get defensive, if something as trivial as that got you all riled up, I suggest you stay of public forums.

Not everyone's opinions is as sugar coated as you obviously would prefer.

For the record I wasn't trashing you at all, but your lights do look terrible. Get projectors.

Ps. I did suggest that. Just with less words. Your claim for me not making any suggestions, and getting mad is invalid. Admit it. You don't think I'm rude, you're just mad I don't like your lights.

well i didn't know you had driven in front of me to know that my lights are blinding. lol. People have been in front of me and told me that the lights are not blinding because they have been angled down. everyone is entitled to their opinion but there are different ways to let someone know about what you are suggesting. I'm over it i hope you are too.

P.S- i dont care if you like my lights or not.

HIDs in reflector housings is simply the wrong way to go, period. You can look up a thousand articles about it. People who just "don't care" will of course argue "it doesn't matter," but the overwhelming consensus is that projectors are the only way to go for HID headlights. That's why the only HIDs you see in cars straight from the factory are in projector housings. It's all about how light works, and when you have that HIGH INTENSITY DISCHARGE light, it doesn't NEED to be reflected around a reflector housing to amplify it's light output. The bulbs themselves are already bright enough. So bright, in fact, that their light needs to be directed and PROJECTED in the right direction. Reflector housings scatter that light, meaning that - A. You're actually wasting the light output of the HID by not having it focused where you need it, and B. You could very well be annoying and "blinding" people on the road at night.

Just because you had some friends drive in front of you and then say the light was not troublesome doesn't mean that's what the average driver is also thinking. And of course most people are competent enough to glance away and not stare into your HIDs and cause a wreck, but it's just plain annoying and will make you look like an amateur in most people's eyes. It's annoying to look at those lights for the general public AND for actual enthusiasts, so it's a lose/lose situation you're in. I understand you think you were "attacked" haha, but this is just the stupid internet and people can talk however they want and you can't take stuff personally. I am just trying to educate you with how this over-beaten-dead-horse of a topic actually works in the real world.

Tell us how you really feel.

Honestly I don't think those lights are bright enough to be blinding, which is another problem in itself, but whatever floats your boat Koch.

Had a mini Fit meet this weekend (3x) with a couple LA lurkers () shenanigans ensued.

@ break time...

+1 for everything these guys are saying kochsteven, please do not be "that guy" with the shitty plug and play kit. There are enough idiots blinding us at night with this setup(mostly redneck truckers), and I'd like to think the fit community is smarter than that.

Do us and everyone on the road a favour and either take those HIDs out of your reflector housings, or get a retrofit done.

You can aim your bowls down as much as you want, there will still be glare everywhere. at some point you'll actually have worse output than stock because the main light output will just be directly in front of you. So again, a lose/lose.

If you really just want the "blueish" lights, then dump the HIDs and get 6000-7000k halogen bulbs.

I understand that it's someone else's car and it sucks to be dumped all over.

But you have to see that in the case of putting HIDs in stock headlights, it's no longer a personal opinion about someone's car. That person has actually become a road hazard for other drivers especially at night with the glare. This is why everyone here is so strongly against the idea of kochsteven doing what he did.

It's not because people are out to get him, it's because this negatively affects other people on the road, and could even result in accidents in poor conditions.
