I would have been more tactful in my opinion of the HID's but I do agree that they are dangerous for other drivers

This is a real problem for since every ricer in SoCal buys the brightest HID's they can find for their lifted truck and blinds the rest of us.

This looked really good in person Erik, I would have run the same setup for this rear lip.

The whole "It's my car, let me mod it how I like" argument fits with topics like stance vs. function, or whether you like a tow hook or tow strap, or whether you like a big wing on the back of your car or not. It doesn't apply with things like putting HIDs in reflector housings. I agree, there are ALMOST no rules to follow when modding your car. Do what you want and make it how you like it. To me putting HIDs in reflectors is like putting 17" tires on 15" wheels, or having a big brake kit and then wheels that don't clear them. The only problem is you can physically put HIDs in your stock housings while those other two examples are basically impossible. Oh well. I don't really care anymore, even if you changed your setup that wouldn't stop all the other people out there doing it and looking like utter boobs.

And that's why I suggested getting 6000-7000k halogens.

At the end if the day all i was trying to get across was how you should aproach people with suggestions since some people dont know how to, that is what the arguement was abou, i could care less about the hid.thanks to everyone who had something nice to say about what the post was originally about.

Park your car in front of a wall and take a picture of the output when it gets dark out.

I'm actually curious to see what kind cut off or glare that setup produces.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with doing something wrong the first time you try it. You shouldn't be scared to fail, at cars or anything in life. The problem comes in when you also fail to listen to people who know better and can educate you. That's how you learn.

conner55 i just want to say that projectors are not a bad idea it was just how it was brought across. but i have parked in front wall that was how i angled them down but it doesn't scatter as much as you would think.

honda4life420 is just want to say thanks for saying what you did.

waizzz i agree with what you said about being for tactfull because that is all this is about for me.

FOr most of us this forum is to show off our cars or to help others and be part of a community right, well if that is the case then how about we treat each other with some respect and make actual suggestions and actually help someone instead of downgrading what someone has done to there car. thanks everyone.

What are your legal requirements out in CA? It'd suck if one of the oncoming drivers who doesn't like getting blinded has a ticket book.

It'd suck more if your I can do whatever I want! attitude makes him decide to have the car towed.

Improperly done lighting isn't about how you feel.

I'd like to politely suggest a capital letter here and there, when appropriate. Is that nice enough?

No harm or hostility intended.yeah we could've been nicer, But this issue has been going on for so long that I think most people simply don't have any patience for it anymore.

I would really appreciate it if you did show us a picture of your output on a wall. I wish I could take your word for it, but I am skeptical.

I get that projectors and retrofitting are expensive, so why not just try some high kelvin halogen bulbs? You'll get the same overall look without the glare, and you can aim the headlights back up to get more light further out. The more you angle them down, the less distance you'll get and at some point the output will end up being worse than stock.

conner55 i agree completely but it wasn't brought across like that to me, and as you can tell im new here so i didn't know it had been going so long but anyway i will start to look for some other lights. just wish the whole started the way you finished it. i just feel we should talk to each other with more respect that's all. But thank you and you have been the most helpful out off all of them.

On this lighting crap:

1) Koch guy, standing in front of your car gives ZERO reference to what other drivers are experiencing.

2) Honda420 dork, if you want to make your car ugly, that's fine. If you want to negatively impact my driving experience through modifications, that's not cool.

3) Statements on public forums should not need to be sugar coated 100% of the time. When someone is straight up 100% in the wrong, they should not be hugged and gently told that their choice may not be a good idea.

4) Those lights are entirely illegal, I sincerely hope that CHP teaches you a lesson in the way of something more substantial than a fix-it ticket.

so this is for mike410b i never stood in front of my car you idiot maybe if you read it i said that other people were in front of my car (driving). anyway if you would read the California regs you would see the laws on hid's and mine are not illegal. i have had no problems with CHP because i have shown them my car and they have no issues.
