i really haven't seen anyone post a pic of a tow hook mount, i originally ordered the kit and the bolt was too long so i emailed cravenspeed and they sent me a shorter bolt that fits perfectly.

 

Confirmed today that I am losing about 1 psi/day from my front drivers side tire after getting a nail hole plugged.

Thing is I can't find the source even after spraying the whole thing with soapy water. Doesn't appear to be coming from the plug since no bubbles have formed.

 

1lb would be a awful sloooooow leak.

Maybe get a bucket and submerge that part of the tire in it and see if bubbles form in time.

Option 2 dismount tire and have it patched so you know the repair is good.

 

Yeah I am going to take it back after this long weekend and will get them to add a patch.

My dilemma right now is, I'm doing about 500 miles of driving over the weekend, so do I leave it on and monitor frequently or change back to my winter tires...

 

1lb a day isn't gonna hurt you.

I know it might be a pain but just check it every morning before you go about your business and add some air if you feel the need.

 

Nah it's not that annoying to do it, my worry is if the stress from hours of highway travel will worsen or accelerate the leak. Never really dealt with this before so have no idea what to expect lol.

 

If the plug is in there it shouldn't have a problem getting worse.
I have seen people rip the plug when installing which might be the case here and you end up with a small leak.

If it bothers you throw your other tires on that way you have no worries.

 

I think that could very well be the case here. Hopefully the patch and plug combo will stop it altogether. Thanks for the info.

I think I'll be okay with keeping these on for the trip. Also don't really feel like changing my wheels right now if it isn't a big deal.

 

Just take one winter wheel/tire with you for a full size spare if you need it.

 

Did you spray soapy water along the rim edge where the tire is pressed over during install? Can sometimes be a hard to find leak there

Yep, well along the front of the rim anyway. Didn't see anything after waiting 15 minutes. If it's happening on the back I will find out come Tuesday when I take it back in. For now I'll just watch it closely.

 

To lazy to take off the rear bumper so i just mask it with tape n paper in the end i like the result!

 

Try this if you haven't yet: Take out the cap on the tire valve. Cover the exposed air valve with liquid soapy water or even a dab of saliva. Observe for air bubbles. Bet the leak is coming from there. Sometimes tire guys don't secure the valves enough on the reinstall. Tighten down and hopefully that solves it.

lol. if u love it the moment u saw it then you wont regret. for me loved the mugen lip nomatter how much i paid for it.. but when i first bought my J's wing off another retiring FitFreak member i kept doubting it. somedays i love it. somedays i'm like freak. what did i do?! lol.

collision repair shop had a mess of a time w/ the grill description i gave em. told em where to buy the replica, (for $60) get me this mugen badge off of ebay for $10. colour match it w/ SSM and since i bought the 'autobot' emblem from a local car detail shop, they didn't need to replace it. but looks like they wanted a 'plug and play' and didn't want a DIY job and shoved the $350+ pricetag for a real MUGEN grill under ICBC's nose. haven't seen it yet.. but should be getting the fit back by monday or tues!!!
