It was about 360km (218miles) away and then another 115km (71miles) to drop it off at J's. Yeah, it (Suzuka) has been something I've wanted to do since a teenager when first introduced to it from watching racing. Was a bit upset watching my friend in his 2R just walk away from me on the straights, but I was expecting that, smaller circuits is where I have the advantage. I set up his suspension quickly a couple days before and he was very happy with the handling feel. Unfortunately, he overlooked his brakes and I didn't even think about it as he just had his car inspected and was passed. He ATE his brakes. Just a street pad, that is a serious no go on circuit, especially a fast circuit like Suzuka. Thankfully Seidoya is based in Suzuka area, Kaz from J's called the owner (Sakamoto-San) around 8PM after my friend and I scoured the area looking for pads and he had 96 Spec R pads in stock. Met us in a shopping center's parking lot and the backdoor deal went down. We changed them over around 11:30 that night with not the proper tools. I grape aped those calipers and pushed the pistons back in, fully extended. Still have pain in my right forearm. No choice really, didn't want to crack the bleeder and drop any fluid into the hotel parking lot and leave a mess.

My friend took some pics and has them on FB and probably Instagram, I'm lazy to take pics when at an event. I'll see if I can grab some.

 

Wow ha. Street pads on Suzuka. I can see that being a very big problem! Pushed the pistons back in by hand? Monster. Some of my most lingering injuries have been from cars. Pulled a muscle in my forearm loosening an oil filter on an RX8 once. If anyone has every done that then you know how hard it is to get tools in there. The filter's on the back of the motor right against the firewall. Super tight. Took two weeks for my arm to feel right again.

Hopefully they will arrive as soon as possible

the one on the middle are the front under spoiler,
and the big bottom on are rear under spoiler

or it could be an exhaust
and that small box in front is a Modulo front lips ?

oh, that one very small box is a mugen interior rear view mirror cover???

ooh mine arrived yesterday! mine didnt come with a defouler like you have there. but i havent thrown a code yet so hopefully i dont need one.

edit: my header also didnt come with a donut gasket -___- i ended up pulling one off my stock b pipe. the donut gasket from the stock header is too big.

also did a valve adjustment at the same time.

Got Kumho 4X in 205/55/15 to replace my S.Drives which lasted an amazing 40k miles. The S.Drives were great tires and will be missed, but I needed to take it down a notch and this seemed like a fair compromise between performance, economy, and all-weather performance. Plus a few of you have posted good things so why not.

Initial impressions:
- UGLY. So ugly. Baloony and I know the sidewalls will be softer. Why did they have to make the lettering so big lol
- Smooth ride, I know they are 2 lbs lighter than the S.Drives
- Seem to roll better, less resistance, but they're not broken in yet.
- No comments on handling, see above. I don't expect them to outperform the Yokohamas but i'm hoping they're not a terrible disaster.

 

M1 oil & filter were bought seperately but everything else was all from one trip and one credit card purchase. I wish I took a pic of me driving home with my car completely full. i couldn't see out of the right side of the car and couldn't recline my seat lol!

I hope everything else makes up for it and they're more practical. They even look like they have a little bit of siping for snow and stuff... I might see some light snow this winter traveling which is part of why I got them, so that's good I suppose.

 

Why not just buy Yoko Avid Ascends den?

 

They are brand new, hopfully they look better once a little more worn

 

7 is the one i used. But if you don't have it you just need one that's 1.75" inner diameter

If yes, then ask for DISCOUNT when you buy the defouler from them

I ordered AEM 02 stainless steel bung and plug earlier today.
I will weld it to this header after they arrive probably next week...
still looking for good TIG welder shop in So-Cal,...
after that then Ceramic Coated the whole thing...
