Changed the Fit's oil this evening. Not that it's ever a particularly fun job, but this was a bit less fun than usual due to subfreezing temperatures in my garage (but not as bad as last night). At least I didn't have to worry about lying in a wet spot from melted snow and whatnot.

I also discovered that it's easy to overheat the crush washer when annealing it. Whoops. Luckily, I found an appropriately sized washer in my coffee can of assorted random leftover hardware. It's not a proper crush washer, but I think it'll do for one oil change.

Replied back to Kaz over at J's and said go ahead and do the 6MT swap on my slow, girl car. But will use the CR-Z 4~6 gears as 4 and 5 are the same as my current 4/5 and 6th is a little longer than the Fit's 6th and hopefully my final is still salvageable.

I bought some Orange Burst touch up paint.

This combined with my new PC 7424XP, polishing compounds and sealants/waxes should result in a much nicer looking GE this coming summer.

Mine got a quick wash today. I figured since it was +6 up here, and the car was utterly filthy from my wife's drive up from Whitecourt, it was time.

I know its a stupid little piece, but I'm thinking about switching from my SickSpeed antenna to a Blox stubby. I just like the fitment a little better. J's makes one, but its almost $100 by the time it ships out to me. Way more than I want to spend on an antenna...

So the CRZ trans will work on the FIT?

The gears inside are compatible as they are the same part numbers as my current gears, the case is probably different, so I can't say for sure you can just put on the CR-Z trannsmission. Using the GE8 6MT case. Also the mounting is slightly different, cable and engine wiring harness according to the invoice J's sent me.

Are the shark fins just for looks or do they get better reception?

Unfortunately, got sent the wrong Hawk pads. Box was labelled correctly. Contents were wrong. Someone in packaging needs to be fired. Plans are now pushed back a bit :-\

Install K&N Typhoon Ram Air Intake:

Notice that I connect the Breather Hose differently that what K&N instructed,
since I already do the Throttle Body Coolant By Pass DIY Mod.

I washed my fit only to get stuck going down a street with muddy road work. On a positive note, I saw the coolest fit plate gd3 L15a.

Spent a few hours at the dealer for them to take a look at my TPMS sensor, they told me which one went bad and that they will not replace it under warranty

Getting a new one from Painterguy and will get it installed at my local tire shop next week

Some are just for show but the beat sonic and Visual garage are functional. I haven't installed it, but several people say it is as good as the stock antenna or a tiny bit better.

How is the sound? I am thinking of getting one. I know there isn't really any performance gains but I am looking for a little throatier sound in the cabin.

The sound is Great,
but it is a little to noisy for me...
I mean I never knew that it is going to be this loud...
but what I like is,
it free up a lot of space in the engine bay...
anyway,
I already bought it, so I guess I will be stuck with it forever

oh, K&N Customer Service Dept. is very good !
I just submit the CARB E.O. Sticker form and document request this morning,
and in just 30 minutes or so,
they already email me back saying they had sent my CARB E.O. sticker.
Yes, K&N for Honda Fit GE is CARB Exempt !

Working Duel Exhaust!!

Today I went to a homies garage and decided that I was going to replace the stock exhaust pipes with 2 1/4in piping that was attached at the Cat. After I was done I had about 17in of pipe left so I used an extra Magnaflow muffler took a dremel tool and cut out the appropriate size divot on the driver side rear bumper and used the extra piping to connect the second muffler to the new exhaust piping then measured and welded. Didn't really get that muchl power from the second muffler but she sound amazing, and looks even better.
