My personal guess is yes on both since I don't think they will have different seats (front or back) between Base/ Sport.

Anyone notice that no pic's of the 09's interior have been without the Nav option? I've looked everywhere and the most I've seen is a JDM version with the space capped off with no radio at all. I want to see what the standard audio unit will look like. Nav will probably be at least $1800.

.

The only pics available so far that I have seen of the USDM Fit are the same car at the New York Auto Show this year.

Here is the JDM Fit w/o nav from the brochure:

Im also curious to know what the standard audio system will look llike. Do you think it will be similar configuration as the Nav version (double din)? The Nav version looks like a double din setup. I hope it is because i plan to upgrade the audio of my future '09 Fit with an Alpine double din setup. I hope I can uninstall the base system and slide in the Alpine without waiting for Metra to come out with a kit.

Red face Didn't see the #'s yet

Any word on fuel economy? Better than the current Fit, perhaps?

Whoa! That site has come great pics!

Look at this one--makes me really hope they put the panoramic roof option in our 2009 Fits. Normally I dont jump on the whole sunroof thing, but this looks awesome!

I LOVE THAT! ...that's the thing that gets to me is knowing that they won't give that option here in N.A.

That would totally seal the deal for me INSTANTLY if they had that option.
But they won't in the 2nd gen release right away...for one of two reasons:

1) Safety standards are different and more stringent in North America.
2) They'll give a bare bones car for the first year or two and when sales plateau or start to decline (which will be awhile), they'll throw in this option.
Look at the Beetle for example.
How long before they sold the convertible version in North America?
5-6+ years wasn't it?
Car was re-released in '98, didn't see a convertible for awhile.
Ironically enough IMO they released it when it seemed like the Beetle lost it's appeal and sales were down.

Where do you think the inside sunroof cover rolls into?

Who knows...
Every country (or continent) has varying standards that they see "Fit"

Are you talking about roof strength on a rollover? Isn't most of the structural strength still intact? The pillars are the same, and there is still a frame of steel around the top... Not to mention, as you said, people still drive CONVERTIBLES.... Ahh I am just pissy cause I want that sunroof!

I know the GLASS does not move, but there has to be an inside cover right?

There are times you don't want all that sun blaring down on you. I was referring to an inside cover, not moving glass.

No cover comes with the Fit for the Glass top here in Japan... the Glass it self has a factory tint to it which in those pictures is not evident....I`d say about the same as 35% tint

Hmm, I'd say no on this option then, if I cannot 100% shade the glass.

I've got a sunroof on my vehicle now, and I rarely use it mid-day, when the sun is right overhead. I always close and cover it then. I enjoy it in the morning, evening, and night time though.

That Japanese Honda site is nice- too bad it's in Japanese though, lol.

I noticed that Japan has pink Fits as well as a dozen other colors not available in America.

The interior is great. One thing though, notice the audio position is actually toward the passenger side because of the climate controls being close to the driver. Not so sure that's a great idea.
